Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Wadakanchery Kendra (114th Kendra) was inaugurated on 17th January 2003 by Member of Parliament Mr. S Ajaykumar.
Balamandir was inaugurated on 2nd June 2003 with two divisions & KG to start from Brahman Sabha to begin with and then from the premises of Shri. Ajit Mallayya on token rentals for next five years.
Primary School classes started from AY 2004-05 with a student strength of 179 students. 3.50 acres land at Akamala was donated to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan for starting CBSE School by Soudhrdha Group & their MD , Shri. P.N. Rajan. The foundation for School Building was laid on 16/1/2004. School Building was inaugurated on 14/11/2005 by Pravinchandra Gandhi in the presence of Shri. HN Dastur, Shri. PR Krishnamoorthy, Shri. AV Venkatachalam, and Smt. & Shri. Sundararaman, son of the late Shri. S Ramakrishnan and Panchayat Pradhans. Wadakanchery Kendra has one Balamandir (KG Section) and one Higher Secondary School.

SPACE EXPO 2025

The Space Expo 2025, organised by Vivruti, was held at Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala, on October 7, 2025. The officials from Vivruti—Dr. K. P. Subramanian (Retired Senior Scientist, ISRO Ahmedabad), Dr. T. R. Govindankutty (Retired Scientist, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), and Mr. Roshan Sharma (ISRO Space Tutor and Facilitator)—delivered inspiring addresses on advancements in space research and exploration. The highlight of the event was the Rocket Launch at 2:00 p.m., which was met with great enthusiasm from students and staff. The Space Expo 2025 provided students with valuable insights into space science and inspired them to pursue scientific learning with passion and curiosity.


Bhavan's Atlos


The annual sports meet, ‘Bhavan’s Atlos’, for the academic year 2025-2026, was officially inaugurated on October 8, 2025, at Bhavan’s S Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala, promising a spirited start to the two-day event. Following the opening ceremony, the various sports events officially began, marking the start of exciting competitions and displays of athletic prowess for Bhavan’s Atlos 2025-2026.


Investiture Ceremony

Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala conducted the Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 on July 4, 2025 in the school auditorium. The newly elected cabinet members were honoured by the management, principal, vice principal, and teachers. The Principal administered the oath during the formal Oath Taking Ceremony, marking a significant moment for the student leaders.


Felicitation Ceremony

The Felicitation Ceremony for Classes 10 and 12 (2024–25) was held on June 4, 2025 at Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala.
Sri P. N. Rajan, Chairman, felicitated the achievers along with P. N. Venugopalan (Executive Vice Chairman), C. A. Sankaran Kutty (Hon. Secretary) and
P. N. Gokulan (Associate Secretary). Pradeep A, Officer on Special Duty, graced the occasion with his presence.
Students who scored above 90% and subject toppers were awarded trophies in recognition of their academic excellence.


Shraddhanjali

We are sad to inform about the demise of G. Sivaswamy, the Founder Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Wadakanchery Kendra. He was 91 years old.
G. Sivaswamy has served extensively in the Ministry of Steel, New Delhi, International Commission for Supervision and Control in Laos, Information Officer in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands headquarters in Port Blair, Research Officer (Publications) writing books Build Machines Build India, Industrial Data etc., Assistant Director (Publications) in the National Literacy Mission, Deputy Director (Publications) and Editor of Literacy Mission, a monthly periodical, he represented India in the Book Production Course for Editors of Asian Countries under UNESCO in Japan. He retired from government service in 1992 and joined as Consultant in UNICEF, New Delhi.
He was the first Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Wadakanchery Kendra and remained a patron till his demise. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
