Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula hosted an enchanting Grandparents’ Day for the Primary Section (Nursery to Grade 2). The festivities kicked off with a warm and colourful Tilak ceremony, setting the stage for a day filled with joy. Our little Bhavanites took the spotlight, showering their grandparents with heartfelt
songs and captivating dance performances that lit up the room. One of the most delightful moments was when the grandparents joined in the fun. The energy in the air was electrifying, showcasing the beautiful bond between generations.
Interaction with Army Veteran
Under the Project Veer Gatha initiated by The Ministry of Defence in collaboration with Ministry of Education, Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula organised an interactive session with Army Veteran and NSG Commander Brigadier Subhash Chander Rangi (Retired) Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal.
Brig S C Rangi (Retd.) initiated the session by highlighting the increase in terror attacks and the prompt actions taken by the Indian armed forces. He captured the interest of the Bhavanites through some heart-wrenching anecdotes. He also made the young generation understand the meaning of ‘Heroes’. He highlighted the need for grabbing opportunities as they come and to act wisely. The interactive session raised the curiosity of the students to know more about the tales of valour from Brigadier S C Rangi which was followed by a Question-Answer session.
‘Shobhla Himachal’
With a view to inspiring in young Bhavanites an appreciation for the rich cultural legacy of neighbouring states, Bhavan Vidyalaya organised a grand cultural event, ‘Shobhla Himachal’ on October 19, 2024 in the school.
The event showcased the rich cultural heritage, festivals, sports, cuisine and economic growth of Himachal through mesmerising dances and songs woven into a well-crafted narrative. The exhibition of Himachali paintings and artefacts along with the vibrant dances like ‘Luddi’, ‘Jhamakra’, ‘Gidda’, ‘Thoda Dance’ and ‘Pahari Nati’ were a treat for the eyes.

Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula played host to a prestigious two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) programme under the aegis of CBSE and ISTM, held on September 27–28, 2024. The programme brought together some of the most esteemed educators and leaders, of both national and international repute. The resource persons included Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Deputy Director, ISTM; Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Head, COE CBSE, Panchkula Region; Dr. Pratik Ghosh, HOD, IHMC Chandigarh; and Mrs. Seema Jerath, Principal, DLF School, Delhi. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with participants comprising Principals and Postgraduate Teachers (PGTs) from various prestigious CBSE schools across the region. The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Shekhar Chandra, Regional Officer, Panchkula, and Mrs. Seema Khakha, Head, COE, Panchkula. The participants were subsequently divided into two batches, and the training sessions commenced, marking the beginning of an enriching journey towards enhancing their skills as educators and trainers.

Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula, in association with SPIC MACAY, hosted a captivating session on Kalaripayattu, Kerala’s traditional martial art, showcasing its unique combat techniques, indigenous medicinal practices, and significance in religious worship. Shri Rajeev K. P. and his team of experts demonstrated mesmerising feats like chattom (jumping), ottam (running), and marichil (somersault), emphasising
mind-body coordination and agility. Approximately 400 students engaged in the productive session, followed by a conference attended by dignitaries from various fields.

Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula celebrated Teachers’ Day with an event that honoured the dedication and hard work of the teaching community. The major highlight of the event was a cultural programme presented by the teachers, where they showcased their hidden talents. A thought-provoking skit by the students left the audience spellbound. The event also acknowledged the efforts of teachers who helped students of Std. 10 and 12 (CBSE) achieve outstanding results. The Vice-Principal, Mrs. Sonia Pabby, was honoured for completing 25 years of service at the school.
Mrs. Mamta Aggarwal was felicitated on behalf of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Head Office, Mumbai, for winning the ‘Kulapati Munshi Award’.
District Table-Tennis Championship 2024
The Table Tennis Association District Panchkula successfully organised the 29th Panchkula District Table-Tennis Championship 2024 from August 30 to September 1, 2024. Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula’s Std. 12 students, Nanki and Riya, won gold medals in their respective categories.

15th District Wushu Championship, held at St. Teresa Convent School, Sector 25, Panchkula, saw an extraordinary display of talent and determination by the students of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula. Under the expert guidance of their coach, Mr. Sachin, 33 students from the school participated in the event and achieved remarkable success.
The students showcased their skills across various categories, winning an impressive total of 33 medals: 21 gold, 9 silver, and 3 bronze. Their outstanding performance not only brought pride to the school but also highlighted the dedication and hard work of both the students and their coach.

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebrations began with a series of special themed assemblies organised throughout the week that instilled a sense of national pride and unity among the students and staff.
The flag-hoisting ceremony was followed by a parade led by the NCC students, who marched in unison, exemplifying discipline and dedication to the nation. The parade set the tone for the day’s celebrations, reflecting the spirit of the armed forces and the youth’s role in safeguarding the country.
A special assembly, themed ‘Tribute to Freedom Fighters’ featured heartfelt speeches, soulful patriotic songs, and a dramatic portrayal of key moments from India’s fight for independence. The senior students paid homage to the unsung heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom, inspiring the younger generation to uphold the values of liberty and justice.
The middle school presented a poignant assembly titled ‘Swadhinta—Jashn-E-Azaadi’, which depicted the story of India’s struggle for freedom through a series of powerful performances.
The Junior Section set the tone with a vibrant assembly based on a colour theme, symbolising the ‘unity in diversity’ of our nation. The students from Std. 1 and 2 showcased their talent through music, dance and yoga performances, which were met with great applause.
Debate Championship
The 9th edition of the Parliamentary Debate Championship (PDC) recently concluded at Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula, following a two-day programme that showcased the intellectual prowess of over 300 participants from the Tricity and surrounding areas. The participants were divided into teams of three. The championship commenced on August 17, 2024 with an inaugural ceremony featuring a rich cultural programme, comprising an opening video, Ganesh Vandana, dance performance, and band display, setting the tone for the event. Throughout the championship, participants engaged in intense debates on various thought-provoking themes, demonstrating their exceptional critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills. The championship culminated with the announcement of the winners, with Team IND 10 comprising Daksh, Shaurya and Aryamann emerging as the Winning Team. The Runners-Up Team consisted of Mannat Sangha, Vaibhavi and Swanvi. Samridhi Singh was declared the Best Speaker, while Rohan Singh proved to be the best Adjudicator.
Raksha Bandhan Celebration
In a heartwarming initiative, students of BVP Interact Club of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, brought joy and smiles to the residents of Akal Old Age Home by celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan with them. As many as 16 students, accompanied by two escort teachers, participated in the event, spreading love and warmth among the elderly residents.
The event was filled with emotion as the students tied rakhis on the wrists of the elderly, symbolising the bond of protection and care. The gesture was reciprocated with blessings, laughter and heartfelt conversations, making it a memorable day for both the students and the residents.

Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula hosted its annual Investiture Ceremony on August 8, 2024. This esteemed event exhibits the school’s commitment to nurturing leadership and excellence among its students. The proceedings began with the introduction and badge ceremony of the new School Council members, recognising their essential contributions to student governance and school spirit.

It is a matter of honour and jubilation for Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, as Garv Goyal, a student of Std. X was selected amongst top 32 students at the national level to attend a camp at AIIMS, New Delhi, which is one the most prestigious institutions of the nation. He qualified for the camp by cracking a mind-boggling quiz competition called ‘Anastomosis’ which was organised by AIIMS, New Delhi in collaboration with IIT, Delhi.
Garv Goyal was awarded a gold medal and a certificate.
Income Tax Awareness Programme
Bhavan Vidyalaya, in collaboration with Salwan Education Trust and National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT), organised an Income Tax Awareness Programme to educate students, parents, and teachers about India’s taxation system and new tax reforms. The event began with a welcome address by Shri. A.N. Mathur, Chairman, Bhavan Vidyalaya School Managing Committee, followed by the felicitation of guests.
The chairperson of the Salwan Education Trust, Shri. Sushil Salwan and Secretary, Shri. Paramjit Khanna were also present during the event. A video on Income Tax awareness was showcased, highlighting the importance of tax compliance. Ms. Seema Dhankar, an IRS Officer from the 2010 batch, currently posted as Additional Assistant Director of Income Tax, graced the occasion along with her colleague Mr. Kalicharan Prasad (AAIDT) and other officers. The highlight of the programme was an awareness campaign led by Mrs. Priyanka Barara, Principal, Salwan Public School, Delhi, informing participants about online competitions to be held at the tri-city level, aiming to promote tax awareness among students.
Medha Manyata Divas
Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, organised its Annual Prize Distribution Function, titled ‘Medha Manyata Divas’ on August 3, 2024. It was an endeavour to acknowledge and award students for their glorious achievements in the school examination for the academic session 2023-24. The school honoured all its achievers for their outstanding performance in both academic and extracurricular areas. All toppers from Std. III to Std. VIII were felicitated with cash prizes and citations. Students who scored 90% and above for 3 consecutive years and more were given prizes.
The most desired Bhavan’s pride—All-round Best Student Award in the junior category was given to Aradhya Singla of Std. VI and Darsh Khanna of Std. VIII.

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, organised a two-day Annual Prize Distribution function, appropriately titled ‘Medha Manyata Divas’ from July 19 to 20, 2024. It was an endeavour to acknowledge and award students of Classes 10 and 12 for their glorious achievements in the school examination for the academic session 2023-24. The school honoured all its achievers for attaining a sterling record in scholastic and co-scholastic domains.
The function commenced by seeking God’s blessings through the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
This was followed by a TED Talk-inspired session, in which CBSE toppers and achievers of the 2023-24 batch were invited to inspire and motivate students of Classes 10, 11 and 12. The panel included Rachit Ahuja, Sai Gaurav Sahu, Ishita, Sophia, and Ananya.
The next day in the sequence was the prize distribution ceremony. This year nearly 340 students were awarded. The CBSE toppers of Class 10 and 12 were felicitated and awarded Rs 1500 each. Besides the overall toppers, other academic achievers were given citations.
Science Genius and Mathlete Award was conferred upon Rachit Ahuja and Rachit Bishnoi respectively. The Major Sandeep Sankhla School Time Achievement Award was given to Shaurya Chaudhary and Aradhya Vashisht of Class 12, and included a citation and a cash award.
The most coveted Bhavan’s prize, the all-around best student award in memory of former chairman Shri Kulwant Singh was bestowed on Rachit Ahuja of Class 12.
The school’s annual magazine Medha Manthan was released by Vice-Chairmen Shri A. N. Mathur and Brig Kiran Krishan and other distinguished members of the management committee.

A group of 38 students from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, accompanied by Principal
Ms. Gulshan Kaur and three teachers, embarked on an enriching international trip to the United Kingdom. The journey was packed with exciting experiences, cultural immersion and learning opportunities. One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the Indian High Commission in London, India House, where the students gained valuable insights into the country’s diplomatic efforts and cultural preservation. They also had the privilege of visiting Bhavan’s Centre of Cultural Excellence, which is dedicated to promoting and preserving Indian culture and traditions in the UK. The students were impressed by the efforts of the centre in keeping Indian values and heritage alive in a foreign land. The students’ cultural and educational journey continued as they explored Scotland and Ireland, marvelling at the breathtaking landscapes. The group gained valuable insights into higher education by touring two universities—University of Hertfordshire and Heriot-Watt University.
