Afreen Shakeel, a Class 12 student of Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, secured the gold medal in the Under-19 Girls’ Long Jump with a leap of 5.18 metres at the CBSE National Athletics Meet held in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh from September 9-13, 2025.
Book Festival

A book festival was organised at Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram in Tripunithura on August 27, 2025. The event was attended by prominent people, including children’s author Prashanth Viswamaya, poet Ambili B, and Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharati Education Officer Smt. Usha K. The festival featured over 1,600 books that were read by the students. As a special gesture, students who participated in the festival received awards from the International Book Committee.
Magnum Opus 2025 - Velantra

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar hosted the 30th edition of Magnum Opus 2025 - Velantra, a vibrant interschool dance and quiz festival, on August 23, 2025. The event brought together 14 schools from Kochi, providing a platform for students to showcase their creative talents. Renowned film director Shri Sibi Malayil inaugurated the festival, sharing his experiences and encouraging students to be confident and strive for excellence. The theme of this year’s fest, ‘Velantra,’was a blend of Italian and Sanskrit words, symbolising the fusion of cultures and talents. The event featured four group dance competitions and three quiz events catering to students of different age groups.
A surprise event combining dance and quiz was also part of the fest, specifically designed for students of Std IX to XII. The festival concluded on a high note, with Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, emerging as the Overall Champions, and Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, securing the Runners-up Trophy.
Bhavan’s Jindal Award

Ms. Seema C, Teacher, Department of computer science, Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, received the Bhavan’s Jindal Award for Best Teacher (Secondary Category) – 2024. She was honoured with a certificate, a medal, and a cash prize of Rs.10,000 in recognition of her outstanding service and dedication as a teacher. The award was instituted for teachers across all Bhavan’s schools in India by Shikshan Bharati Mumbai.
Professional Excellence Award

Smt. Deepa Varghese, Teacher, Department of Commerce, Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, was honoured with the Professional Excellence Award in recognition of the outstanding performance of students in the CBSE Examination 2025 (Accountancy). The award was presented by Sri Jaiprakash Chaturvedi, Director, CBSE, at a function held in New Delhi on September 14, 2025

Bhavan’s Newsprint Vidyalaya, Velloor, played proud host to Krithi…Artora 2025, an inter-school celebration of artistic brilliance, musical depth and creative craftsmanship. Held in June 2025, the event marked a day of cultural immersion and youthful vibrance, drawing over 500 participants from schools across Ernakulam and Kottayam districts.
The inaugural address was delivered by Shri Amal Varghese, renowned violinist and the Guest of Honour for the day. His presence elevated the event while his
soul-stirring violin performance cast a meditative spell over the gathering. Krithi…Artora 2025 offered a vivid palette of events designed to appeal to a wide range of age groups and artistic talents. From classical renditions to cinematic nostalgia, the fest celebrated the fusion of heritage and imagination through the following major events:
Kunjunni Kavithakal, Nadalayam, Madhurageethangal, Fusion Fiesta, Shades of Symphony, Timeless Trinkets, Earthen Echoes, Melodiva and Celluloid Soul.
The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Shri Prasad Balakrishnan Nair, Special Officer, Kerala Paper Products Limited, who also gave away prizes to the winners. Smt Keerthana Smitha Shaji, renowned playback singer, lauded the young artists for their dedication and artistry. Smt Vijayalakshmi N. A., Education Officer, Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharati, underscored the role of arts in holistic education. The grand finale featured a mesmerising performance by Shri Najran Kabeer, whose musical mastery brought the curtain down on the event in a wave of melody and applause.
In a spirited display of excellence, Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, Thrikkakara was declared the overall champion of Krithi…Artora 2025. Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, and Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, were jointly awarded first runners-up, each school demonstrating remarkable talent and creative spirit.
Ramayana Week Celebration 2025

Bhavan’s Newsprint Vidyalaya, Velloor, observed Ramayana Week from July 17-22, 2025 with reverence and enthusiasm, celebrating the timeless epic through a series of spiritually enriching and culturally vibrant events.
Programme Highlights:
* In the Storytelling sessions in English and Malayalam, students from the primary section captivated the audience with their expressive narration and clarity.
* Bhajan performances, led by students created a devotional atmosphere, fostering spiritual connection and collective harmony.
* Solo enactments by middle and senior school students brought to life iconic moments from the Ramayana, reflecting students’ theatrical talent and understanding of the epic’s values.
* Distinguished personalities including Shri Abhijith Kannur (Flautist) and Shri C.K. Divakaran (Retired Teacher and Proofreader at Mathrubhumi Daily) graced the occasion with inspiring addresses.
* The week concluded with a grand cultural presentation featuring the graceful dance performance ‘Dasaratheemayookham’ and the majestic ‘Pattabhishekam’ ceremony, both staged by students with great finesse.
Kochi Kendra

Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Tripunithura, hosted its annual inter-school fest, SRUSHTI ‘Yuktara 2K25’, a celebration of technology and innovation. The event was inaugurated by Sri K. Suresh, Deputy Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, who emphasised the importance of human values like empathy in the tech era. Smt. Deepa Unnithan, Dean, Bhavan’s Royal Institute of Management, and Smt. Manju Mathew, PTA representative offered felicitations. The highlight of the event was the mesmerising robotics show, featuring humanoid and dog robots that showcased the fusion of technology and life.
The grand finale saw Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, Trikakkara, emerge as the overall winner of Srushti Yuktara 2K25. The

At a special ceremony held in the school auditorium on September 10, 2025, the institution was honoured with the Kulapati Munshi Award for Best School 2024 by Shikshan Bharati, Mumbai, a distinguished recognition bestowed upon schools that excel in academics, co-curricular activities, faculty development, and community engagement, truly embodying the vision and values of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

Pratibhotsavam 2025 Celebration

Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, in association with the Parent Teacher Association, hosted Pratibhotsavam 2025, its Annual Merit Day, to honour the outstanding academic achievements of students from Standards X and XII. Inauguration of New Building

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara marked a momentous milestone with the grand inauguration of its newly constructed Lilavati Munshi Block on May 31, 2025.
The new block was formally inaugurated by CA Venugopal C. Govind, Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, in the esteemed presence of Shri E. Ramankutty, Director, along with other distinguished members of the Kendra Committee.
The three-storeyed building comprises 15 spacious smart classrooms equipped with the latest digital teaching aids. This addition is a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to upgrading its infrastructure and enriching the learning environment for its students.
International Day of Yoga 2025

On June 21, 2025, Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor observed the International Day of Yoga 2025 with profound enthusiasm and reverence, aligning with this year’s global theme—‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’. The event aligned with the school’s vision to promote holistic well-being and mindful living.
The occasion was graced by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Poornathrayee Jayaprakash Sharma—renowned yoga exponent, musicologist, multilingual composer, dancer, and acclaimed television artist, whose presence lent great inspiration and distinction to the day’s proceedings.
In keeping with the spirit of the day, a Yoga Quiz was also organised, eliciting enthusiastic participation from students.

The Sardar Patel Hall of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor, resonated with dignity and youthful promise as the school hosted its investiture ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 on June 18, 2025. Farewell to P. M. Venkataraman

The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra arranged a befitting farewell on May 30, 2025 to P. M. Venkataraman, Chief Manager- Finance, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra who demitted the office on May 31, 2025.
Shri Venkataraman served Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kochi Kendra for the past 18 years. He was very loyal, committed, dedicated and led the institute to higher planes during his tenure in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kochi Kendra. He maintained a positive and optimistic outlook, even in challenging times.

International Day against Drug Abuse

Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Tripunithura, solemnly observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, 2025.
Shri Suresh MF, Assistant Commissioner of Excise, Ernakulam, addressed the gathering as chief guest, emphasising the growing threat of substance abuse among youth and the urgent need for united action. Students pledged to lead a drug-free life, followed by a powerful dance performance portraying the perils of addiction. The event sent a strong message on the importance of safeguarding young minds.
Silver Jubilee Celebrations

Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Tripunithura, proudly inaugurated its Silver Jubilee festivities, ‘Rajathotsav’, marking 25 years of excellence in education. The ceremony on the campus was honoured by Shri Jagdish Lakhani, Executive Secretary and
Director-General of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai, who unveiled the Silver Jubilee logo and launched the year-long celebrations. Shri Anoop Jacob, MLA, was the guest of honour. Enthusiastic participation from students, parents, alumni, teachers and all staff members made the event truly memorable.
Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign
Flagging off the Silver Jubilee events, the school organised ‘Jagrata,’ an impactful Anti-Drug Campaign in its grand Lilavati Munshi Sabha Griha on June 29, 2025. ACP P. Rajkumar and ASI Excise, Arun Kumar addressed the community, highlighting early warning signs of addiction and the importance of informed prevention.
Nearly 400 participants from 10 local residential associations attended, underscoring the community’s commitment to well-being.

Reading Day was celebrated with great zeal at Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Thiruvamkulam. Chief Guest Smt. Nimmi K K, Malayalam educator and executive member of Changampuzha Smaraka Grandha Shala, emphasised upon the transformative power of reading in shaping young minds.
Greener India, Cleaner Future Initiative

Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Tripunithura celebrated Van Mahotsav on July 1, 2025, with the launch of the ‘Greener India, Cleaner Future’ initiative.
Shri Manu Sathyan, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Ernakulam, addressed students on the importance of forest conservation, the effects of carbon emissions, and the need for eco-friendly choices.
The event featured the students participating in a Green Pledge Ceremony, a Kathaprasangam on Chipko Movement, and the launch of the ‘Green Champions Initiative’, a month-long tree plantation drive. A nationwide photography contest was also announced to promote environmental awareness through creativity.
International Yoga Day

Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Tripunithura, marked International Day of Yoga 2025 with vibrant celebrations on June 20 and 21. The highlight was a captivating yoga demonstration by students, reflecting discipline, grace, and inner harmony.
Renowned yoga practitioner and founder of Bhramari Yoga Kendra, Smt. Sreeja Ajayan, was the esteemed chief guest. In her address, she underscored the transformative power of yoga in nurturing holistic well-being.
Mass yoga sessions led by trained instructors engaged students and teachers alike, reinforcing the values of mindfulness and healthy living.
Kochi Kendra

Mangaladwani, the inaugural meeting marking the beginning of the academic year 2025–26, was held with solemnity and purpose, bringing together the teaching community of Bhavan’s schools under Kochi Kendra. The event began with a prayer by Sri. Vyas Kumar, Teacher, Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad. Before the formal proceedings began, the members of Bhavan’s Family observed two minutes silence in prayerful obeisance over the sad and untimely demise of Smt. Lisha C. V., Librarian, Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar who passed away recently.

C Govind was a powerful and visionary message. Expressing pride in the achievements of Kochi Kendra—which now includes seven schools, a college, and a
B-school—he welcomed the 93 new teachers who were formally introduced during the session. He celebrated the collective success of the past year, highlighting the impressive academic results, with most schools crossing 90% distinction.

The Quiz Club of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, Kochi, successfully hosted the ‘Inter class Dimdima Quest’ for students of Class 3 and Class 4 on March 4 and 5 respectively. Conducted by Class 9 students, the quizzes were based on the diverse topics that were featured in select issues of Dimdima magazine. Ninety students participated in the preliminary written rounds, with six teams of two members each, selected for the final round.
Trophies and certificates were presented to the first and second prize winners.
The event not only honed quizzing skills but also highlighted the importance of the Dimdima magazine as a valuable infotainment resource for students.
Kochi Kendra

The Biology Department of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor organised an Animal Conference on March 3, 2025 at the Vivekananda Lecture Hall. The event was presided over by the Chief Guest, Mr. Srinivas Kammath, SAARPA Coordinator, Ernakulam District.
The conference saw enthusiastic participation of 23 students, who delivered presentations on a diverse range of animals, from the colourful toucan to the endangered vaquita. Each presentation showcased the students’ knowledge and passion for the animal kingdom.
The conference provided a platform for students to share their knowledge and insights on various animal species. The presentations covered a wide range of topics, including habitat, behaviour, conservation status and interesting facts about each animal. The event promoted awareness and appreciation for the rich biodiversity of our planet.
PTA Day celebrated

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Eroor celebrated Prabodhini, PTA day where actor, director, ad film maker Shri Srikant Murali was the Chief Guest of the day. The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Shri Murali and other dignitaries.
The Chief Guest in his inaugural address, highlighted the importance of school life which plays a pivotal role in shaping a child’s overall development. He profoundly stated that action serves as our prayer, love embodies our religion, and time is revered as our highest power.
Retiring teachers and teachers who received various awards this academic year were acknowledged and felicitated by the PTA.Parents and teachers actively participated in the sports and games organised by the PTA and Edu Sports of the school. Dance, musical performances and fashion shows by the parents and teachers enthralled the audience.

Bhavan's Royal Institute of Management proudly organised its international conference, Bhavan's League of Inclusive Values (BLIV) 2025, designed to promote and integrate value-based management education with a focus on inclusivity in business and society. This year's conference, themed 'Redefining Value Generation in the Gen-Z Era', was held in association with Fragomen Education Services.
The conference was jointly inaugurated by Mr. Lincoln Smith, International Relations Officer at Mount Saint Vincent University, and CA Venugopal C. Govind, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan-Kochi Kendra. Their inaugural address set an inspiring tone for the event, emphasising the importance of inclusivity and value-driven leadership in today's dynamic business environment.
A panel discussion on the conference theme was held with distinguished panelists, including: Ms. Prasita Prasad (People Manager, SOTI), Mr. Deepu Xavier (Founder, Zappy Hire), Ms. Nadia Sait (Manager, Fragomen), Mr. Nikhil Pinto (Former Chairman-Institute of Company Secretaries India, Kochi). The discussion examined diverse perspectives on redefining value generation for the Gen-Z era and explored innovative approaches to sustainable business practices.
A research paper presentation competition was also conducted, featuring separate tracks for academics, research scholars, and students, to encourage thoughtful deliberations and showcase emerging insights.
The conference concluded with a valedictory address by Dr. Vipin V.K., Founder of STEM Cadets, who delivered an inspiring keynote speech on leadership and innovation followed by award distribution for the best paper presentations.

Kochi Kendra

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor, hosted a two-day workshop and symposium on Green Endemism, focusing on preserving endemic species and promoting sustainable development. The event, held on January 24 and 25, brought together 70 participants, including students, researchers, and professionals.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr T. V Sajeev, Forest Range Officer. The symposium featured technical sessions covering various topics, including Conservation and Protection of Earth’s Biodiversity; Addressing Climate Change through Historical Insights; Moth Screening and Research; Exploring Hortus Malabaricus; Environmental Sensitivity in Literature; Identification of Endangered and Threatened Species; and Bird watching and Avian Studies.
Master Bryan Joshua of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor and Master Subramani Anand of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, delivered engaging 15-minute presentations, with Master Bryan showcasing six different species of animals and Master Subramani conducting an interactive session on birds.
A special lecture on animal behaviour was delivered by Dr. Sajeev T.V, highlighting conservation efforts and community involvement.
36th Annual Day Celebrations

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor, celebrated its 36th Annual Day with zeal and enthusiasm for the kindergarten & primary section on January 27, 2025 and secondary and senior secondary section on January 28, 2025. Smt Sunitha S, Academic Supervisor, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi, graced the event as the chief guest. It was a grandiose event packed with talent and festivity, showcasing the creativity and achievements of the students.
Hon’ble Justice Retd S Siri Jagan, Former Judge, High Court of Kerala and Acting Vice Chancellor, NUALS was the Chief Guest of the Secondary and Senior Secondary section.
Prizes were distributed to the meritorious students by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. Teachers who completed 25 years and 10 years of service were honoured.
Republic Day

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor, observed the 76th Republic Day on January 26 to reinforce the spirit of secular India. The staff, students and parents celebrated the day with great pride, spirit and passion towards their homeland. The event also featured the Scouts and Guides song, and a heartwarming rendition of a patriotic song, fostering a sense of unity and patriotism among the students.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, conferred Merit Awards upon the winners of the BSS Cultural Mission’s Diploma Course. The award ceremony held on February 1, 2025 at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor, recognised exceptional talent in various categories, including Carnatic Music, Violin, Veena, Flute, Mridangam, Tabla, Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam and Painting.
Awards, certificates and score cards were presented to winners across Lower, Higher, and Advanced levels. Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor hosted S Ramakrishnanji Memorial Girls’ Games Meet 2024-2025 on February 1, 2025. This event aims to celebrate the spirit of sports, empowering young girls to discover their strength, teamwork and resilience.
