Kochi Kendra

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra conducted the 39th Annual All Kerala Inter School Science Quiz Competition in connection with the National Science Day on February 27, 2026 at Sardar Patel Sabha Griha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, T. D. Road, Kochi.
The quiz competition was conducted in two categories: the Junior Category for students of Classes 4, 5 and 6, and the Senior Category for students of Classes 7, 8 and 9. Students from 16 schools across the state participated in this prestigious event, showcasing their knowledge, talents, and skills in a spirit of healthy and friendly competition. The programme was moderated by the distinguished quiz master Dr. Akshay Subramanian, whose energetic and engaging presentation maintained a high level of excitement and audience involvement throughout the event.
In the Senior Category, Master Arjun A Menon (Class 9), Master Ayush Rejith (Class 8) and Kumari Malavika Menon (Class 8), all students of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar emerged as champions. They were honoured with an Ever-Rolling trophy, certificates and a Cash Prize. Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Thiruvamkulam and Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara got the second and third position respectively. Certificates and cash awards were presented to both the teams.
In the Junior Category, Master Vishwanath Varma (Class 5), Master Adwaith Sajeev (Class 6) and Master Vaishnav C (Class 6) students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, Chevayur, Kozhikode bagged first position. They were honoured with an Ever-Rolling trophy, certificates and a cash prize. The second position was a tie and it was shared by Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad and Vidyodaya School Thevakkal. The third position was also a tie and it was shared by Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara and Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar. Certificates and cash awards were presented to both the teams.
Kochi Kendra
The Kochi Kendra conducted the 39th Bhavan’s M. K. K. Nayar Memorial Annual All-Kerala Inter-School Quiz Competition on January 31, 2026 at Sardar Patel Sabha Griha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, T. D. Road, Kochi. The topic for the Quiz Competition was ‘Environment– Heroes and Innovations’. Renowned Quiz Master Dr. Akshay Subramanian conducted the programme with remarkable energy and thrill, captivating the audience throughout. Students from 20 schools across the state participated in this prestigious event, showcasing their talents and skills in a spirit of friendly competition.
Madhav Malappat and Harinand S, students of Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, emerged as champions of the competition and were awarded the prestigious M. K. K. Nayar Ever Rolling Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.
The second position was secured by Malavika Menon and Arjun A. Menon, students of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar and they were presented with certificates and a cash prize of Rs. 7,500.
The third position winners are Ishaan R. Menon and Niranjan Sekhar A., students of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara were awarded certificates and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000.
Annual Felicitation Ceremony

The Annual Felicitation Ceremony, Triumphs and Trophies, was held on February 7, 2026 at the prestigious Sardar Patel Sabha Griha, T.D. Road, Ernakulam. A total of 352 students were felicitated for their outstanding accomplishments in various domains, having secured accolades at the state, national, and international levels. The ceremony was presided over by the Chairman, C. A. Venugopal C Govind, and was graced by C. A K Shankaranarayanan, Honorary Secretary and Vice Chairman, C. A. G. Gopinathan, Vice Chairman, Shri E. Ramankutty, Director and Shri K Suresh, Deputy Director.
Kochi Kendra

Skandan K.S and Sathvik Sharath, students of Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, Thrikkakara, Kochi, were declared the international winners of the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge (WWGC) 2025. They secured this remarkable achievement by representing India at the international finals held on December 9, 2025.
The WWGC, renowned as the world’s largest wildlife quiz, witnessed participation from over 4,27,639 students across more than 3,500 schools in India. A total of eight teams from four continents—Asia, Europe, North America, and South America—competed in the grand finale of WWGC 2025. The contest featured participants from India, France, Cyprus, Portugal, Bhutan, the UK, Hong Kong, and Colombia. Team India emerged as the first-place winner, followed by Colombia in second place and Portugal in third.
Skandan K S and Sathvik Sharath earned the opportunity to represent India at the international level after successfully advancing through multiple rounds, including the school, district, zonal, and national levels.
As part of their achievement, the national winners were given a prestigious opportunity to participate in the Winners’ Meet held in New Delhi from November 18-22, 2025 which served as a platform for interaction, learning, and exposure to global environmental initiatives.
A major highlight of the programme was the four-day educational visit to the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh.
The International Winners were honoured with trophies and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance and dedication.
Kochi Kendra

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor marked a milestone in progressive education with the inauguration of Vigyan Vatika, its newly established Science Park, on January 15, 2026. Conceived to foster experiential and inquiry-based learning, the thoughtfully designed park extends seamlessly across the campus—from the Kindergarten wing through the Primary block to the Secondary section—inviting students of all ages to engage with science in a tangible and inspiring manner.
The Science Park was formally inaugurated by CA Venugopal C Govind, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi. Sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Association, the initiative features an impressive array of interactive installations, including a Newton’s Colour Disc, Persistence of Vision, Parabolic Disc, Musical Tube, Wave Pendulum, Infinity Well, Periscope, Automatic Rain Gauge, Periodic Table, Large DNA Model, Sun Dial, Optical Illusion Cube, Pulley System, and several other hands-on exhibits that vividly translate abstract scientific concepts into lived experience.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Sreejith V S, Director, Science Centre, Kodungallur, the creator of the Science Park. Envisioned as a vibrant learning ecosystem, Vigyan Vatika seeks to nurture curiosity, observation, and critical thinking, enabling students to explore the wonders of science beyond the confines of the classroom and inspiring a lifelong engagement with discovery and innovation.
New Block Inaugurated

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its newly constructed block, the Kasturba Gandhi Block, on January 1, 2026. The three-storeyed building was inaugurated by CA Venugopal C. Govind, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, in the presence of other dignitaries. The newly added facility houses nine spacious and well-designed smart classrooms equipped with modern digital teaching aids and contemporary learning resources. This progressive addition stands as a testament to the institution’s continuous efforts to upgrade its infrastructure and provide students with a dynamic, technology-enabled learning environment.
Kochi Kendra

The XXVII All Kerala Bhavan’s Cultural Fest 2025 was celebrated with splendour and cultural vibrance across three prestigious Bhavan’s campuses, bringing together student performers from across the state for a magnificent showcase of talent, creativity, and artistic excellence.
The Cultural Fest for Category I & IV was hosted at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Manvila on September 13, 2025. The fest was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Aravind Venugopal, acclaimed playback singer, whose presence added charm and inspiration to the occasion.
Events for Category II & III were held at Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad on October 31, 2025. The ceremony was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri K. Jayakumar IAS, Former Chief Secretary of Kerala and noted poet-author, whose insightful address was an inspiration to the young performers.
The competitions for Category V and the grand culmination of the fest took place on November 1, 2025 at Kulapati Munshi Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Pottore, Thrissur. The event was inaugurated by Padma Shri Mattannoor Sankarankutty Marar, Chairman, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, whose esteemed presence elevated the cultural spirit of the evening.
Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad emerged as the Overall Champions of the All Kerala Bhavan’s Cultural Fest 2025 with an outstanding 602 points. The First Runners-up position was secured by Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara with 565 points, and Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, Kadavanthra claimed the Second Runners-up position with 507 points.
Across all three venues, the fest served as a vibrant platform for children to celebrate India’s cultural heritage through graceful dance forms, powerful musical performances, expressive literary displays, and theatre art. The spirit of healthy competition, sportsmanship, and artistic collaboration was evident as young Bhavanites showcased their best in an atmosphere of motivation and camaraderie.
Munshi Memorial Oration

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, organised the 7th Kulapati Dr. K. M. Munshi Memorial Oration on January 6, 2026 at the Sardar Patel Sabha Griha, TD Road, Ernakulam, marking the birth anniversary of Dr. K. M. Munshi, the visionary founder of the institution. The event featured an intellectually enriching programme that brought together educators, students, jurists, and distinguished dignitaries.
The keynote oration was delivered by former Chief Justice of India, Hon’ble Justice Dr. D. Y. Chandrachud. Speaking on the topic “What Makes a Constitution Endure—K. M. Munshi and the Moral Architecture of the Republic”, Justice Chandrachud spoke on the enduring legacy of Kulapati Dr. K. M. Munshi, a key architect of India’s Constitution, and emphasised the importance of upholding constitutional values.
Kochi Kendra
The second edition of the 3-day Inter-School Sports Carnival, COURT CLASH, was held at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, Kochi on November 13, 14 & 15. Initiated by the PTA of the school, the sports carnival featuring basketball, football, volleyball, and Kho Kho matches had the major backing of the Bureau of Indian Standards, Kochi. Teams from 22 schools from across the city participated in the event.
At the Inaugural Ceremony, the Chief Guest Sri K. N. Unnikrishnan, MLA, Vypin constituency, spoke about the major role played by sports and games in students’ lives.
As a precursor to the sports carnival, a captivating performance by Mentalist Amal, the Best Youngest Street Mentalist in India awardee, had the audience spellbound. ‘Trios Kochi’, the popular music band, performed for the students during the post-lunch session.
In connection with the sports event, BIS also organised the MANAK Carnival comprising an interschool Science Exhibition and a quiz competition.
Shri Suresh K, Deputy Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, was the chief guest for the valedictory ceremony on November 15, 2025. This occasion was also graced by Shri Narender Reddy Beesu, Scientist E, Bureau of Indian Standards, and Shri Tom Joseph, Arjuna Awardee and National Volleyball Player. The winners of the sports events were felicitated at the ceremony.
Mr. Roshan K and Mr. Athulgosh T A, Second year MBA (Finance and Marketing), secured the runner-up position in badminton at CUSAT Kurukshetra 2024–25.
Ms. Amretha B P, First year MBA student, emerged as the college topper in the First Sem University Examination.
Ms. Gayatri Rajesh, Second year MBA (HR and Finance), presented her research paper titled “Exploring Employee Competencies for Organisational Performance” at the International Learners’ Summit 2025, CUSAT, under the guidance of Dr. Smitha Rajappan.
Ms. Devika Mohan First year MBA secured 2nd place in String Eastern—Violin at Sargam 2025, the CUSAT Youth Festival.
Ms. Anjana Biju, First year MBA secured 3rd place in Bharatanatyam & Mohiniyattam and A grade in Kuchipudi, Folk Dance & Adapt Tune at Sargam 2025, the CUSAT Youth Festival.
Mr. Roshan K, specialised in Finance & Marketing got 3rd place in Hindustani Vocal and A grade in Ghazal at Sargam 2025, the CUSAT Youth Festival.
At Sargam 2025, the CUSAT Youth Festival, the students brought laurels to the institution by winning A grades in various events. The achievements include: Percussion Western—Mr. Joslind George (specialised in Marketing & IB), Malayalam Debate—Ms. Anju Prasannan and Ms. Aleena V. S (First year MBA), English Debate—Ms. Gayatri Rajesh (specialised in HR & Finance) and Ms. Aparna K. A. (specialised in HR & Marketing), Recitation—Ms. Megha C. Bhavan’s NDLI has been awarded the NDLI Club of Excellence Award—2025 by the National Digital Library of India for the second time.
Kochi Kendra

Bhavan’s Royal Institute of Management, Kochi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Southern Naval Command to deepen academic collaboration and extend welfare-oriented initiatives for naval personnel.
This MoU enables joint efforts in knowledge exchange, training programmes, and collaborative projects that support capacity-building and professional excellence. Importantly, the benefits under this MoU will be applicable from the Bhavan’s MBA admissions for the 2026–28 batch onwards, ensuring structured support and opportunities for eligible naval personnel and their dependents.
Best Performing NDLI Club Award 2025

Bhavan’s Royal Institute of Management, Kochi, has been honoured with the Best Performing NDLI Club Award 2025. The award, presented by the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) under the Ministry of Education and developed by IIT Kharagpur, was conferred during the three-day KEDLD 2025 Symposium held at IIT Kharagpur. The award was received by Dr. Deepa Unnithan, Dean, and Ms. Gowthamy Satheesh, Assistant Librarian. The institute had earlier been recognised as the ‘Best NDLI Club in Kerala’.
This national recognition reflects the institute’s proactive integration of digital learning into academics through the NDLI Club platform. The platform has been effectively leveraged to engage students, foster creativity, and promote academic excellence through a wide range of academic events and active-learning initiatives. It also plays a vital role in keeping students connected to the library in an increasingly digital era.
The Reading Nest

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor, added another inspiring chapter to its legacy of early learning with the inauguration of ‘The Reading Nest’, a charming and thoughtfully crafted reading corner for Kindergarten children on November 14, 2025.
The space was formally inaugurated by Shri E. Ramankutty, Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, in a ceremony that celebrated the magic of stories and the promise of young imagination.
A visionary initiative of the PTA 2025–26, the Reading Nest aims to nurture a genuine love for books from the earliest years, encouraging children to explore, imagine, and wonder. Designed as a warm, inviting, and child-friendly space, it offers young learners an engaging environment where reading becomes a joyful ritual-one that sparks curiosity and opens new worlds with every page turned.

Afreen Shakeel, a Class 12 student of Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, secured the gold medal in the Under-19 Girls’ Long Jump with a leap of 5.18 metres at the CBSE National Athletics Meet held in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh from September 9-13, 2025.
Book Festival

A book festival was organised at Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram in Tripunithura on August 27, 2025. The event was attended by prominent people, including children’s author Prashanth Viswamaya, poet Ambili B, and Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharati Education Officer Smt. Usha K. The festival featured over 1,600 books that were read by the students. As a special gesture, students who participated in the festival received awards from the International Book Committee.
Magnum Opus 2025 - Velantra

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar hosted the 30th edition of Magnum Opus 2025 - Velantra, a vibrant interschool dance and quiz festival, on August 23, 2025. The event brought together 14 schools from Kochi, providing a platform for students to showcase their creative talents. Renowned film director Shri Sibi Malayil inaugurated the festival, sharing his experiences and encouraging students to be confident and strive for excellence. The theme of this year’s fest, ‘Velantra,’was a blend of Italian and Sanskrit words, symbolising the fusion of cultures and talents. The event featured four group dance competitions and three quiz events catering to students of different age groups.
A surprise event combining dance and quiz was also part of the fest, specifically designed for students of Std IX to XII. The festival concluded on a high note, with Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, emerging as the Overall Champions, and Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, securing the Runners-up Trophy.
Bhavan’s Jindal Award

Ms. Seema C, Teacher, Department of computer science, Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, received the Bhavan’s Jindal Award for Best Teacher (Secondary Category) – 2024. She was honoured with a certificate, a medal, and a cash prize of Rs.10,000 in recognition of her outstanding service and dedication as a teacher. The award was instituted for teachers across all Bhavan’s schools in India by Shikshan Bharati Mumbai.
Professional Excellence Award

Smt. Deepa Varghese, Teacher, Department of Commerce, Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, was honoured with the Professional Excellence Award in recognition of the outstanding performance of students in the CBSE Examination 2025 (Accountancy). The award was presented by Sri Jaiprakash Chaturvedi, Director, CBSE, at a function held in New Delhi on September 14, 2025
PT Thomas Education Excellence Award

Ms. Karthika Nandakumar, Teacher Department of Science, Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya Kakkanad received the PT Thomas Education Excellence Award for Best Teacher for the academic year 2024–25 for her excellent commitment to teaching and exceptional contribution to academic excellence.

Bhavan’s Newsprint Vidyalaya, Velloor, played proud host to Krithi…Artora 2025, an inter-school celebration of artistic brilliance, musical depth and creative craftsmanship. Held in June 2025, the event marked a day of cultural immersion and youthful vibrance, drawing over 500 participants from schools across Ernakulam and Kottayam districts.
The inaugural address was delivered by Shri Amal Varghese, renowned violinist and the Guest of Honour for the day. His presence elevated the event while his
soul-stirring violin performance cast a meditative spell over the gathering. Krithi…Artora 2025 offered a vivid palette of events designed to appeal to a wide range of age groups and artistic talents. From classical renditions to cinematic nostalgia, the fest celebrated the fusion of heritage and imagination through the following major events:
Kunjunni Kavithakal, Nadalayam, Madhurageethangal, Fusion Fiesta, Shades of Symphony, Timeless Trinkets, Earthen Echoes, Melodiva and Celluloid Soul.
The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Shri Prasad Balakrishnan Nair, Special Officer, Kerala Paper Products Limited, who also gave away prizes to the winners. Smt Keerthana Smitha Shaji, renowned playback singer, lauded the young artists for their dedication and artistry. Smt Vijayalakshmi N. A., Education Officer, Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharati, underscored the role of arts in holistic education. The grand finale featured a mesmerising performance by Shri Najran Kabeer, whose musical mastery brought the curtain down on the event in a wave of melody and applause.
In a spirited display of excellence, Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, Thrikkakara was declared the overall champion of Krithi…Artora 2025. Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, and Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, were jointly awarded first runners-up, each school demonstrating remarkable talent and creative spirit.
Ramayana Week Celebration 2025

Bhavan’s Newsprint Vidyalaya, Velloor, observed Ramayana Week from July 17-22, 2025 with reverence and enthusiasm, celebrating the timeless epic through a series of spiritually enriching and culturally vibrant events.
Programme Highlights:
* In the Storytelling sessions in English and Malayalam, students from the primary section captivated the audience with their expressive narration and clarity.
* Bhajan performances, led by students created a devotional atmosphere, fostering spiritual connection and collective harmony.
* Solo enactments by middle and senior school students brought to life iconic moments from the Ramayana, reflecting students’ theatrical talent and understanding of the epic’s values.
* Distinguished personalities including Shri Abhijith Kannur (Flautist) and Shri C.K. Divakaran (Retired Teacher and Proofreader at Mathrubhumi Daily) graced the occasion with inspiring addresses.
* The week concluded with a grand cultural presentation featuring the graceful dance performance ‘Dasaratheemayookham’ and the majestic ‘Pattabhishekam’ ceremony, both staged by students with great finesse.

Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Tripunithura, hosted its annual inter-school fest, SRUSHTI ‘Yuktara 2K25’, a celebration of technology and innovation. The event was inaugurated by Sri K. Suresh, Deputy Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, who emphasised the importance of human values like empathy in the tech era. Smt. Deepa Unnithan, Dean, Bhavan’s Royal Institute of Management, and Smt. Manju Mathew, PTA representative offered felicitations. The highlight of the event was the mesmerising robotics show, featuring humanoid and dog robots that showcased the fusion of technology and life.
The grand finale saw Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, Trikakkara, emerge as the overall winner of Srushti Yuktara 2K25. The
runners-up trophy was jointly awarded to Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, and Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest, Smt. Vijaylakshmi N A, Education Officer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi.
Award Ceremony

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara marked a proud and momentous milestone as it received two prestigious awards, celebrating its unwavering pursuit of academic excellence and environmental stewardship.
At a special ceremony held in the school auditorium on September 10, 2025, the institution was honoured with the Kulapati Munshi Award for Best School 2024 by Shikshan Bharati, Mumbai, a distinguished recognition bestowed upon schools that excel in academics, co-curricular activities, faculty development, and community engagement, truly embodying the vision and values of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
The school was also conferred the Haritha Vidyalayam Award by the Haritha Keralam Mission, an honour that celebrates institutions with exemplary green practices such as waste management, energy conservation, water harvesting, biodiversity enhancement, and inspiring students to take an active role in environmental awareness initiatives.
Adv. M. Anil Kumar, Mayor of Kochi Municipal Corporation, was the Guest of Honour. Chief Guest Smt. Priyanka G, IAS, District Collector of Ernakulam conferred the coveted awards. Dignitaries of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, representatives of the Haritha Keralam Mission, and members of the PTA also offered felicitations, adding warmth to the occasion.
Pratibhotsavam 2025 Celebration

Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, in association with the Parent Teacher Association, hosted Pratibhotsavam 2025, its Annual Merit Day, to honour the outstanding academic achievements of students from Standards X and XII. The event stood as a testament to the institution’s commitment to recognise perseverance, discipline and hard work among its learners.
The high achievers were felicitated with citations and certificates sponsored by the PTA, symbolising both recognition and encouragement for their continued journey towards academic and personal growth.
