School Reopening Day Ceremony

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Variyapuram, School reopening day ceremony was led by Hon’ble Chairman Sri TKA Nair IAS, Secretary & Director Sri PI Sherief Mohammad, and other dignitaries. As part of the celebrations, World Environment Week was commemorated with a focus on sustainability and students showcased their creativity through coconut palm leaf art exhibitions and cultural programmes.
The Hon’ble Chairman Sri TKA Nair IAS led the students in an oath against drug addiction, emphasising the importance of a healthy and substance-free life.

Visit by Hon'ble Union Minister of State, Shri George Kurian

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Pathanamthitta had the esteemed privilege of hosting Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri George Kurian.
The key highlights of the visit included the planting of a Golden Showers Tree sapling by Shri George Kurian, emphasising environmental stewardship and sustainability. He also inaugurated the Dolphin Project, promoting marine conservation and research, which aligns with the school’s mission to nurture inquisitive minds. Furthermore, the Minister led a solemn oath-taking ceremony, where students and staff pledged to contribute to dolphin conservation and protect marine life. The students of Bhavans Royal Band welcomed the Minister with a captivating performance, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm.

World Anti-Drug Day Celebration

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Pathanamthitta observed World Anti-Drug Day with a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The school’s SPG group, under the guidance of the Preventive Officer, conducted informative classes and organised poster-making and story-writing competitions. These activities highlighted the importance of staying away from drugs and encouraged students to make informed choices. The event culminated in a solemn oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to lead a life free from substance abuse.

Celebrating World Music Day and International Yoga Day

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Pathanamthitta marked World Music Day and International Yoga Day by visiting Omalloor Santhvanam, a charitable trust, where students performed and spread joy. This outreach initiative promoted holistic well-being, creativity, and community service, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing compassionate and responsible individuals.

DISHARI Workshop 2025

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir hosted the DISHARI Workshop 2025, a 4-day experiential journey for teachers, from April 7-10, 2025. The workshop was inaugurated by Principal Mrs. Asha P.R., who set the tone for an engaging and enriching experience.
Led by Mr. Robins J. Alapatt and facilitated by expert trainers Mr. Madhu Mohan, Mr. Abin Ubaid, and Mr. Linto John, the workshop equipped educators with innovative teaching methodologies, effective digital tools, and essential life skills. The event concluded with a valedictory function in the presence of Hon’ble Secretary and Director, Sri P.I. Sherief Mohammad.
The DISHARI Workshop 2025 was a resounding success, empowering educators to enhance their pedagogical practices and reinforcing Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir’s commitment to excellence in education.

INNOVISTA 2025

Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, commemorated National Science Day with a grand exhibition, Innovista 2025. The event showcased the multifaceted talents of the students, highlighting their innovative spirit, artistic flair, and passion for learning. The exhibition featured innovative projects, art, literature, culture, mathematics, computer science, music, sports, and library exhibits. The students demonstrated a deep understanding of various subjects through their creative expressions, from intricate science experiments to melodious musical performances. Innovista 2025 provided a platform for the young innovators to shine, celebrating their creativity, ingenuity, and dedication to excellence.

United Against Drugs and Violence

Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta, organised a collective oath-taking ceremony where students and teachers pledged to say NO to drugs and violence, and YES to kindness, empathy, and compassion. This mission aims to create a safer, healthier, and more harmonious school community, promoting a culture of peace and understanding.

Kindergarten Wet Day Celebration

The kindergarten students of Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta, had an unforgettable experience on Wet Day, filled with excitement, laughter, and learning. The event promoted sensory exploration, teamwork, and creativity through various water-based activities. The little ones enthusiastically participated in the fun-filled games, developing essential skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony

Bhavans Balamandir, Pathanamthitta, proudly celebrated the Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the journey of the tiny tots. The ceremony was attended by Hon. Secretary Sri P.I. Sherief Mohammad and Principal
Mrs. Asha P.R., who joined to honour the little graduates. The event was a testament to the growth and development of the kindergarten students, who have blossomed into confident and curious learners.

Craft Demonstration and Awareness Programme

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta, was bestowed with a unique honour when it was selected by the Handicrafts Service Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, to host a three-day Craft Demonstration and Awareness Programme (CDAP). This prestigious programme aimed to promote traditional crafts and create awareness about their importance in preserving our cultural heritage.
The event was inaugurated by Hon. Secretary and Director Sri P. I. Sherief Mohammad, Mr. Lenin Raj K.R., Asst. Director, Handicrafts Service Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, and master crafts persons. The programme featured demonstrations of four traditional crafts: Aranmula metal mirror (GI craft), straw picture craft, stone carving craft, and Nettipattam craft. Local master craft persons were invited to share their expertise and skills with the students, providing a unique learning experience.
The three-day workshop was an enriching experience for the students, who were introduced to the intricacies of traditional crafts.

Free Medical Camp

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta, in collaboration with Ramakrishna Math, Vallicode, organised a free medical camp on January 30, 2025 at A.B.R. College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Variyapuram. This noble initiative aimed to provide quality medical care and services to the local community. The medical camp was well-attended by people from surrounding areas, who availed themselves of the free medical check-ups, consultations, and diagnostic services. The event was a huge success, with many beneficiaries expressing their gratitude for the selfless service provided by the organisers. Adding to the success of the event, free medicines were donated to the beneficiaries, further enhancing the impact of the medical camp.
The event was a shining example of the power of collaboration and community service.

Oral Health Awareness

The Indian Dental Association, Pathanamthitta Branch, conducted the Crush 2 Brush programme at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, with the aim of encouraging students to maintain good oral health. The programme focused on educating students about the importance of proper dental care and hygiene.
Renowned dentists Dr. Rajesh V, former President of the Indian Dental Association, Pathanamthitta Branch, and Dr. Jacob John Plackal, Representative to the Council of Dental Health, provided expert guidance to the students, sharing valuable tips and insights on how to keep their teeth healthy.

Sacred Blessings

Bhavan's Vidya Mandir Pathanamthitta began the year with the divine presence of His Holiness Jagath Guru Narayana Theertha, Shankaracharyar, Gangotri, Himalaya. The sacred blessings and guidance from His Holiness inspired the students.

Aranmula Heritage Walk

The Aranmula Heritage Walk was a significant event that showcased the rich cultural heritage of Aranmula, a village in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. The event was inaugurated by Hon Chairman of BVM, Pta, Sri T K A Nair (IAS Retd), who launched the Sugatholsavam, a celebration of music, art, and culture. The Aranmula Heritage Walk was a tribute to the revered poet Sugathakumari, and it culminated with a grand ceremony attended by the Honourable Defence Minister of India, Sri Rajnath Singh. The event was organised by the Aranmula Heritage Society, led by Sri Kummanam Rajashekharan.
Sri P.I. Sherief Mohammad, Hon. Secretary and Director of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Pta, played a pivotal role in the success of the event. The students and teachers of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir also played a significant role in the event, actively participating and showcasing their passion for preserving cultural heritage.

Annual Day Tarang 2025

The Annual Day Tarang 2025 celebrations of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir were a resounding success, showcasing the talents and achievements of its students in a kaleidoscope of colours, music, and dance. The event was attended by esteemed guests, including the Hon’ble Chairman Sri TKA Nair, former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India, Sri Inchakkadu Balachandran, renowned poet, lyricist, and director, and Miss Asna Nissam, Kairali Patturumal Season 12 title winner. The highlight of the event was the prize distribution ceremony, where the outstanding students who excelled in the Class 10 and 12 board examinations were felicitated.

ATL Lab Training Session

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta Kendra, hosted an engaging ATL Lab training session on December 7, 2024.
This hands-on training programme, conducted by Mr. Niranjan, aimed to inspire young minds and cultivate essential skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Students participated in interactive activities, exploring the fundamentals of STEM and developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Mr. Niranjan’s expertise and engaging teaching style ensured an immersive learning experience.

National Colloquium

The National Colloquium of Intellectuals and Think Tanks of India was held in Hyderabad from November 22 to 24, 2024. Honorable Secretary Sri P I Sherief Mohammad from Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta, attended the event, which was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu. The colloquium fostered intellectual discussions, knowledge sharing, and nation-building among esteemed dignitaries and think tanks.

Montage Art Exhibition

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta, has achieved a remarkable feat by getting selected to participate in the esteemed Montage Art Exhibition, organised by Kochi Global International School. The exhibition, held at David Hall, Fort Kochi, from December 17 to 20, 2024, showcased collaborative artworks from 30 chosen schools across Kerala.
The school takes immense pride in featuring the outstanding work of its students, Darshana Girish and Devananda, whose painting ‘Silent Scream’ demonstrated exceptional creativity and talent. This achievement is a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing artistic excellence and providing opportunities for its students to shine.

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Pathanamthitta Kendra celebrated its annual Sports Day on October 30, 2024, at Kodumon Stadium, marking a significant day for the school. Esteemed guest Sri K T Chacko, former Police Superintendent, inaugurated the event amidst great fanfare. Students from various age groups showcased their skills and teamwork in track and field events, generating palpable excitement as the crowd cheered on for their favourite teams. The event highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing talent and physical fitness, culminating in Hon Secretary Sri P I Sherief Mohammad awarding prizes to the deserving winners, encouraging them to strive for excellence.

Guest Lecture on Sustainable Technology

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Pathanamthitta hosted a captivating guest lecture by Dr. Nattuvally Jayachandran, a pioneer in sustainable technology and founder of the Jayachandran group of clinics, on November 6, 2024. Dr. Jayachandran, a renowned physician who is an expert in Keraliya Panchakarma with a special focus on diabetes and arthritis, emphasised the importance of embracing sustainable practices in daily life.
As a token of appreciation, talented student authors Ankita Ajay (Std. 10), Aalia Dipu (Std. 8) and Keerthana S. Iyer (Std. 8) presented their books as mementos to Dr. Jayachandran, showcasing the school’s nurturing of young literary talent.

National Education Day

November 11, 2024, marked a significant day at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Pathanamthitta as the English Department proudly celebrated National Education Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister. The celebration showcased the talents of students across various disciplines, featuring soulful songs by students of Std. 10, 4 and 6, thought-provoking poems recited by Std. 9 students, Disney characters coming alive in the engaging skit put up by Std. 7 students, book reviews by Std. 9 students, an enchanting ‘Barbie’ dance by Std. 2 students, and an energetic dance performance by Std. 8 students. Prizes were distributed to outstanding students, recognising their excellence in various disciplines.

Children's Day

November 14, 2024, Children’s Day, was a vibrant celebration at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Pathanamthitta, commemorating Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday and reaffirming the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds. The festivities began with a peaceful children’s rally, where students of Std. 1 and 2 held placards and chanted ‘Jai Jai Chachaji...’ as a tribute to Nehru. A stunning fashion show followed, showcasing traditional costumes from various Indian states, highlighting the country’s rich cultural diversity. Std. 8 students presented an engaging English skit, and the celebration culminated in a mesmerising song-and-dance programme by Std. 3 and 5 students, filling the atmosphere with joy and energy.

Magic Show

Renowned magician C R Bose mesmerised the audience with his magical skills at the Onnayi Pujyathilekku Magic Show held at BVM on November 21, 2024. The event, guided by Health Inspector Mr. Gopakumar, aimed to create awareness about AIDS and promote healthy habits among students. The unique blend of magic and education inspired a positive change and promoted awareness about the importance of healthy habits.

Kerala Formation Day

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Pathanamthitta’s Malayalam Department marked Kerala Piravi on November 1, 2024, with a vibrant celebration. Students took an oath to safeguard their mother tongue, Malayalam, reaffirming their commitment to preserving Kerala’s linguistic heritage. The event featured mesmerising cultural performances, including traditional Thiruvathira dance, showcasing the state’s iconic art forms and reinforcing the school’s dedication to promoting Kerala’s cultural diversity and nurturing young minds to appreciate their roots.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Variyapuram, Pathanamthitta commemorated Gandhi Jayanti with devotion and fervour, paying tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The event showcased the students’ creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to promoting peace and non-violence. Students displayed their artistic skills by drawing and painting vibrant portraits of Gandhiji, capturing his simplicity, compassion and wisdom. A student dressed up as Gandhiji convincingly portrayed the Mahatma’s iconic attire and bespectacled appearance and led a peaceful procession within the campus. This peace walk aimed to spread the message of harmony, love and non-violence (ahimsa). The atmosphere was filled with soulful renditions of patriotic bhajans, including ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ and ‘Vaishnava Janato’. The melodious voices of the students echoed Gandhiji’s favourite devotional songs.

Navratri Celebrations

Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta, immersed itself in the vibrant spirit of Navratri, celebrating the nine divine nights with fervour and devotion. Students and teachers joined hands to create an unforgettable experience. The school premises were transformed into a sacred haven with an intricately decorated puja room, where daily puja rituals were diligently performed by teachers. The ambience was further enhanced by beautiful flower arrangements and traditional decorations. Students and teachers showcased their exceptional artistic talents. Soulful renditions of devotional songs and traditional bhajans filled the air, while colourful costumes and graceful movements brought mythological stories to life through dazzling dance performances.

Disha Conference

A three-member teaching team, accompanied by the Vice Principal Mrs Shaikh Sabeena from Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir (BVM) PTA, participated in the prestigious Disha Conference held at Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, from October 17-19, 2024. This All-India Conference for teachers of Bhavan’s schools aimed to revolutionise education by integrating values across disciplines and fostering a global perspective through English language instruction. The BVM PTA team presented their innovative abstract, ‘Story Sphere’, showcasing an interdisciplinary storytelling approach to teaching.
During the three-day conference, the team engaged with esteemed educators, experts and peers, gaining invaluable insights and expertise. The Disha Conference provided a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration and growth. The BVM PTA delegation returned enriched, equipped to implement cutting-edge pedagogies and inspire students to become empathetic, global thinkers.

Onam Celebration

Bharatiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) PTA celebrated Onam with great fervour and enthusiasm. The festivities began with a vibrant Pulikali performance, where students dressed in elaborate tiger costumes and masks, mesmerising the audience with their energetic dance. Students also dressed up as Mahabali, recreating the legendary king’s majestic presence.
A colourful Pookalam competition followed, showcasing intricate flower designs and creativity. Teams battled it out in an exciting Tug of War competition, fostering teamwork and camaraderie among students and teachers. The cultural programme was a highlight, featuring traditional Kerala dances, music, and skits, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the state.

Teachers' Day Celebration

Bharatiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) PTA hosted an unforgettable Teachers Day celebration, transforming the conventional student-teacher dynamics into a vibrant showcase of artistic expression. Educators took center stage, unveiling their hidden talents and mesmerising students, parents, and colleagues. Some teachers displayed stunning paintings, intricate sketches, and digital art, while others captivated the audience with a Thiruvathira dance performance, showcasing their graceful movements and energetic grooves. Soulful singing and heartfelt poetry recitals filled the air, highlighting the teachers’ vocal talents and literary flair, with original compositions and classic renditions resonating deeply. Friendly games and team-building activities fostered camaraderie and laughter among teachers.
