SPACE EXPO 2025

The Space Expo 2025, organised by Vivruti, was held at Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala, on October 7, 2025. The officials from Vivruti—Dr. K. P. Subramanian (Retired Senior Scientist, ISRO Ahmedabad), Dr. T. R. Govindankutty (Retired Scientist, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), and Mr. Roshan Sharma (ISRO Space Tutor and Facilitator)—delivered inspiring addresses on advancements in space research and exploration. The highlight of the event was the Rocket Launch at 2:00 p.m., which was met with great enthusiasm from students and staff. The Space Expo 2025 provided students with valuable insights into space science and inspired them to pursue scientific learning with passion and curiosity.

Bhavan's Atlos


The annual sports meet, ‘Bhavan’s Atlos’, for the academic year 2025-2026, was officially inaugurated on October 8, 2025, at Bhavan’s S Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala, promising a spirited start to the two-day event. Following the opening ceremony, the various sports events officially began, marking the start of exciting competitions and displays of athletic prowess for Bhavan’s Atlos 2025-2026.

Investiture Ceremony

Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala conducted the Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 on July 4, 2025 in the school auditorium. The newly elected cabinet members were honoured by the management, principal, vice principal, and teachers. The Principal administered the oath during the formal Oath Taking Ceremony, marking a significant moment for the student leaders.

Felicitation Ceremony

The Felicitation Ceremony for Classes 10 and 12 (2024–25) was held on June 4, 2025 at Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala.
Sri P. N. Rajan, Chairman, felicitated the achievers along with P. N. Venugopalan (Executive Vice Chairman), C. A. Sankaran Kutty (Hon. Secretary) and
P. N. Gokulan (Associate Secretary). Pradeep A, Officer on Special Duty, graced the occasion with his presence.
Students who scored above 90% and subject toppers were awarded trophies in recognition of their academic excellence.

Shraddhanjali

We are sad to inform about the demise of G. Sivaswamy, the Founder Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Wadakanchery Kendra. He was 91 years old.
G. Sivaswamy has served extensively in the Ministry of Steel, New Delhi, International Commission for Supervision and Control in Laos, Information Officer in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands headquarters in Port Blair, Research Officer (Publications) writing books Build Machines Build India, Industrial Data etc., Assistant Director (Publications) in the National Literacy Mission, Deputy Director (Publications) and Editor of Literacy Mission, a monthly periodical, he represented India in the Book Production Course for Editors of Asian Countries under UNESCO in Japan. He retired from government service in 1992 and joined as Consultant in UNICEF, New Delhi.
He was the first Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Wadakanchery Kendra and remained a patron till his demise. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Stand United Against Drugs And Violence!

Bhavan's Vidya Mandir School always strives hard to keep students safe from drugs, ragging, and violence. To spread this message, a rally, flash mob, street play, and road show was organised in Bathery Town on March 6, 2025, where students held placards to bring awareness among the public about drug addiction and violence among students.
The programme was inaugurated by Sri. Atul, Sub-Inspector of Police, Sultan Bathery. Apart from this, the school also implements strict measures to ensure the safety of the students. Regular awareness classes educate them about the harmful effects of drugs. The school also has strict rules on food sharing to prevent any risks.

Malavika Vijayanand, alumna of Bhavan’s S Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the first rank in BSc Honors Zoology from the prestigious Delhi University. Her accomplishment brings pride to the institution and inspires the students to achieve great success in their endeavour.

SARANG 2024

The school’s 22nd Annual Day, ‘SARANG 2024’, was held on December 13, 2024, with great enthusiasm and fervour. The event showcased the students’ diverse talents through a range of cultural programmes.
Dr. Gayathri Sreekumar, a distinguished guest, and Shri. P N Rajan, Honourable School Chairman, graced the occasion with their presence. The Annual Prize Distribution ceremony recognised and rewarded students for their outstanding achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. The event was a grand success, celebrating the school’s accomplishments and providing a platform for students to demonstrate their skills and creativity.

Kerala Piravi and Chhattisgarh Day

Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala, enthusiastically celebrated Kerala Piravi on November 1, 2024, commemorating the state’s foundation day.
Students showcased Kerala’s rich cultural heritage through various programmes, including Traditional Dance and Music performance.
In conjunction with Kerala Piravi, the school also observed Chhattisgarh Day. Students of Std. 1 delivered a brief presentation on Chhattisgarh’s significance, followed by Chhattisgarhi song and dance performances.
The celebrations successfully promoted cultural awareness, unity and pride among students, teachers and staff.

Athlos 2024

Bhavan’s S Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala, Wadakkanchery, recently hosted its 22nd Sports Meet, ‘Athlos 2024’, on November 05, 2024. The Chief Guest, Shri. Anuraj T C, Sub Inspector of Police, Wadakkanchery Police Station, graced the occasion, inspiring the students to strive for excellence. The event kicked off with students showcasing their talents through impressive formations, aerobics, yoga and saree dance. One of the highlights of the day was the lighting of the athletic torch, which symbolises the ignition of the sportsman spirit.

Visit to “Snehalaya”

Bhavan’s S Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala, is inspiring a culture of compassion and charity among its students. As part of their community outreach programme, students of Class 9 visited Snehalayam, an old age home in Mundathikode.
The students provided essential items to the inmates, ensuring that their basic needs were met. This selfless act brought smiles to the faces of the elderly residents.
