Tirupati Kendra
The Diwali Sneha Sammelan 2024, a distinctive Diwali carnival, was celebrated at Bhavan’s Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya, Tirupati, on October 29, 2024. The event was inaugurated by Bhavan’s Honorary Director and Treasurer, Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju, along with staff and students.
The day’s Chief Guest, Dr. A. Raghurama Raju, Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Tirupati, in his address stated that the celebration is a symbol to overcome the darkness of ignorance with the light of knowledge.
The students of the High School set up around 40 stalls, offering a variety of delicacies and entertaining games. Alumni who attended the carnival shared their cherished memories with friends. Visitors praised the students for showcasing their entrepreneurial skills through advertising and sales strategies, making the event a memorable one. Several competitions like Thoran Making, Greeting Card designing and Diya Decoration were conducted and prizes distributed to the winners. Sri D.K.S. Ramachandra Raju, Superintendent of Police, Special Protection Force, TT Devasthanams, Tirupati also graced the occasion.

The South Zone Junior National Athletic Championship was conducted at Nagarjuna University, Guntur, from October 17- 19, 2024, by the Andhra Pradesh Athletic Association. Mast. B. Praneeth Kumar of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati, secured the Gold Medal in Shot-Put Under-16 Category (Boys). He was trained by Mr. P. Prasad, Physical Education Teacher at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati.
Divine Visit
Bhavan’s Sri Venkateshwara Vidyalaya, Tirupati, was blessed with the divine presence of the 70th Peetadhipathi of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swami, on November 2, 2024. Shri Swamiji was welcomed with divine chants and a classical instrumental performance by Sri Manda Anantha Krishnanan and his troupe.
In his message, Shri Vijayendra Saraswati Swami emphasised on the importance of Vedic chanting, highlighting its role in enhancing knowledge, memory, pronunciation, and breath control. He described Vedic chanting as a form of ‘reverse memorising’—a neurobiological exercise that strengthens memory. Swamiji also encouraged students to adopt selfless service, a disciplined lifestyle, and avoid negative traits such as greed and selfishness. He urged them to take up responsible roles in society, like environmental protection, respecting the nation, and fostering social unity.
Swamiji applauded the Bhavan’s institution for its efforts in integrating Indian culture and heritage into education, mentioning programmes like Karthika Ganamrutham and Geetha Jayanti. He mentioned the prime role of Bhavan’s Tirupati Kendra in moulding the students into a human resource. The event concluded with Swamiji felicitating the Bhavan’s Director and Treasurer, Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju, and offering his blessings and prasadam to students and teachers. The function was graced by the members of Bhavan’s Executive Committee, the School Managing Committee and parents, who received the blessings from Swamiji.

The school recently organised two expert sessions in collaboration with faculty from IIT Tirupati, enhancing students’ understanding of chemistry and physics.
On September 21, 2024, Professor Gouri Prasanna Roy, Head of Chemistry at IIT Tirupati, delivered an insightful lecture on the ‘Basics of Chemistry and Trace Elements in Physiology’ for Class XI and XII students.
On September 26, 2024, Dr. Aniket Joglekar, Assistant Professor of Physics, conducted an engaging session on the ‘Basics of Physics,’ which was attended by nearly 150 students and 20 teachers.
The event was a testament to the strong relationship the school maintains with leading educational institutions, offering the students unique learning opportunities that go beyond the classroom.

The annual cultural event, Sravana Sangeeta Lahari, held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on August 24, 2024, was a resounding success, featuring a captivating blend of dance and music that left the audience mesmerised. This year’s theme, ‘Navadurga Vishishta Vaibhavam’, celebrated the nine divine feminine forms known as the Navadurgas, representing various emotions and aspects of human consciousness. Through classical dance and melodious music, the students honoured the rich traditions of Indian culture.
The Chief Guest Prof. Rani Sadasiva Murty appreciated the theme for its portrayal of Shakti, the internal energy, and Shiva, the external energy, both of which foster an active and positive attitude in humans. Mridangam Vidwan Shri M. Sudhakar was felicitated by the Director, Executive Committee Members, and other dignitaries.

On July 20, 2024, Bhavan’s S. V. Vidyalaya, Tirupati Kendra reverently celebrated Guru Poornima. Director Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju and the esteemed guest, Professor Rajanikanth Shukla, National Sanskrit University illuminated the occasion with profound reflections on the guru’s pivotal role in education. The programme, featuring a cultural showcase by Class 9, concluded with felicitations, embodying the school’s commitment to cultural heritage and educational excellence.

Bhavan’s Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya, Tirupati, has launched a month-long Spoken Sanskrit camp, ‘Samskrita Sambhashana Sibiram’, from July 1 to 31, 2024. The inaugural event featured dignitaries emphasising the importance of Sanskrit in enhancing memory, preventing Alzheimer’s, and understanding Indian culture and ancient texts. Around 100 members, including students, parents and teachers, have enrolled for the same.

The auspicious occasion of Vaishakha Pournima was celebrated on May 23, 2024 with grandeur at Bhavan’s Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya in Tirupati. This event marked the 12th Anniversary of the Konda Harathi, a ceremony involving the offering of Harathi to the Seven Hills.
The day’s celebrations commenced with Hayagreeva Homam and Avahanthi Homam in the morning, both conducted with great devotion. These rituals set a spiritual tone for the day, invoking divine blessings for all attendees.
In the evening a large gathering assembled for the Vishnu Sahasranama chanting, creating a serene and holy atmosphere. Following this, Veda Pandits recited Srinivasa Gadya, further enriching the spiritual experience of the participants. The chanting concluded with the offering of Aarathi to the sacred seven hills, a moment of deep reverence and significance for all present.

The 16th Tirupati Book Festival, organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, was a literary extravaganza held from January 20-28, 2024. Nearly 70 stalls displaying various books of different publications, catering to different age groups and interest were set up. Convener of the festival Dr N Satyanarayana Raju, Honorary Director and Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Tirupati Kendra, in his inaugural address recollected the objective behind the inception of the Book Festival and further stated that K M Munshi laid the foundation for the Bhavan’s Book University which marked a significant milestone.
Various thematic platforms were designed on ‘Bharatiya Vidya’ providing an enriching experience to the audience. The first one was ‘Vavilla Ramaswamy Shastri Sahitya Vedika’. The second one was ‘Patanjali Vedika’ exploring the essence of Ashtanga Yoga. Next was the ‘Varaha Mihira Vedika’ followed by the ‘Dhanvantari Vedika’. The thematic platform on ‘Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba’ highlighted the importance of literature, devotion and spirituality. A ‘Geyavadhanam’ presented by eminent scholar and Chairman, SVBC, TTD, Dr. Velugoti Bhaskara Sai Krishna Yachendra enchanted the audience.
Various competitions were held during the festival and winners were awarded prizes. Cultural programmes propagating the rich cultural heritage of India presented by the students of Bhavan’s Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya, Tirupati were highly appreciated.

A two-day professional development programme for science teachers was held at Bhavan’s Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya, Tirupati on February 6–7, 2024, jointly organised by Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), IISER Tirupati and ISTF in association with the Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh.
The event brought together around 80 educators from various institutions.
Eminent scholars and renowned scientists in the field of science research and technology like Dr. D. Narayana Rao, President, ISTF and Prof. Vijayamohanan K Pillai, Registrar, IISER, Tirupati emphasised the role of science and technology in the economic development of a nation and also explained how such programmes guide teachers to develop scientific temper in students.
The resource person Ms Karima Anjum, Royal Society of Chemistry, India Foundation, elaborated that the main objective was to discourage rote learning among students and enhance pedagogical skills by encouraging teachers to upgrade their abilities through the utilisation of various techniques.
The valedictory session marked the culmination of the comprehensive and enriching programme and teachers presented their reflections highlighting their key takeaways and learning experiences.

‘Sravana Sangeetha Lahari’ represents a blend of music and dance, imparting a festive spirit while enhancing spirituality. This year, on August 18, 2023, students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan honoured Indian classical dance and music through their presentation ‘Sangeetha, Bhakthi Vaibhavam’. The programme was formally inaugurated with Bhavan’s prayer and the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest of the day, Shri Aswathi Thirunal Rama Varma, renowned classical musician from the royal family of Travancore.
Sangeetha Geyavadhani Dr. V. Bhaskara Sai Krishna Yachendra, eminent scholar and chairman, S.V.B.C., T.T.D. Tirupati sang a mellifluous song highlighting the rich culture of the school.
Shri Aswathi Thirunal Rama Varma emphasised that the guru-shishya bond should extend beyond the classroom, with the student striving to imbibe guru’s blessing by embodying virtuous qualities.
As per the tradition of felicitating musicians during the Sravana Sangeetha Lahari, this year the renowned classical musician Shri Aswathi Thirunal Rama Varma was felicitated by the Director, the Executive Committee Members, and other dignitaries.
The auditorium resonated with a magnificent display of dance and music by the students, effectively portraying the culture, tradition and spiritual essence of India.
