Title : Light of other daysIt is a story of a Malayalee girl born at the beginning of the last century who is married to a member of the ICS. It is autobiographical in nature telling her own experiences as the wife of a diplomat who traveled to places like China and Russia and stayed in remote corners of India.
Beginning with her life with her parents in Madras she tells the story of how they reached Delhi. It is the story of a large family consisting of not only brothers and sisters but cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and the like. She next talks of her life with her husband, travel, and other experiences and winds up with retirement plans and return to the permanent home.

Born in Madras, Saraswati Menon was married to KPS Menon, ICS with whom she traveled to many places. This is her first book. Her articles have been published by Matrubhumi, Vanitha and other publications.
