The College was started in 1965. Initially, the arts faculty was an integral part of Bhavan's Sheth Ranchhodal Acharatlal College of Science. But in 1967, the composite unit was bifurcated and independent Arts College came into being. Later on in 1969, the commerce faculty was started to meet the rising popular demands of the student community. Thus came into being the Bhavan's Sheth Ranchhodlal Acharatlal College of Arts & Commerce. The College is affiliated to the Gujarat University.
