With the donation of $ 1 lakh by Dr. Hogen Fukunaga to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in November 1995, the Computer Institute was started. The Institute was named after the Father of the Nation in his 125th birth anniversary year.
The main objective of Bhavan's Gandhi Institute of Computer Education & Information Technology is to help students in weaker sections of the Society irrespective of caste, creed and religion. The thrust of the programme is to help them become computer literate and secure placment in the job market with full confidence to face the interviewers. All this is sought to be achieved by providing totally free training with the help of experts and free supply of study material.
