The Bhavan started Jyotisha Bharati in 1992, merging with it the century-old Bombay Astrological Society, established in 1892 by the late Shri Jeevan Triambak Chitnis.

Jyotirvid
The Jyotisha Bharati conducts regular classes of two years' duration, leading to 'Jyotirvid' diploma. Examinations for junior and senior classes are conducted and successful students are awarded the said diploma at the end of the second year examination.

New term always commences on First SUNDAY of the calendar year and the ADMISSION process starts from December of previous year.

Jyotirvisharada
This is a three-year post-diploma course and is meant for serious students who are interested in indepth study of Astrology, astronomical calculations or Panchanga Ganit as propounded by ancient acharyas and modern astronomers, History of Astrology, Indian and Western systems of Muhurta Shastras, etc.
Ashtak varga, Sarvatobhadra chakra and Nakshatra Jyotisha (based on Krishnamurthy Paddhati) are the subjects included in the Jyotirvisharada course as regular subjects.
Nakshatra Murthy (KP System), Jyotisha Shiromani (Niryana System based), and Jyotisha Acharya (Sayana System based) courses have been introduced from the year 2000. These courses are for those students who have already passed their Jyotirvisharada examinations and are interested in RESEARCH.
