Valmiki’s Ramayana and Ramacharita Manasa of Tulsi Das were recited every morning and evening in our family. We learnt to recite them. Even the illiterates could recite chaupais of Tulasi Das and quote them at appropriate occasions. This made the like of the common man also a part of the great Sanatana Dharma.
Rama, sita, Lakshmana, Bharata, Hanuman and other characters depicted in the Ramayana became living symbols for us. Rama Katha enlightens me in every situation and shows the way to find out the solution.
The Vedic philosophy of life has been communicated to the people thorugh the Ramayana.
The Ramayana has shaped the Indian Culture and has taken it to different parts of the world. Rama has been the most popular name all over the world. The magnatic power of the word Rama inspired Kabir, Tulasi Das and Mahatma Gandhi as it had Narada and Valmiki. Time has depreciated the value of everything except the potency of Rama.
