To me Sri Valmiki Ramayana is not only a religious epic, but is also a literary magnum opus. It offers a deep insight into human personality and into interpersonal relationships. Ramayana brings out vividly the beauty of nature as manifested in the mountains, hills, rivers, lakes, forests, trees, birds, wild life and oceans and in the changing seasons. It is full of jewels of worldly wisdom.
In the Ramayana, Rama is depicted as an exemplary human being. Though he occasionally shows human failings, he continuously strives to maintain righteousness in his conduct.
