My vision of free India is freedom from social oppression, political domination and economic exploitation of fellow human being.

Framers and executors of administrative policies and protectors of the law should be more sensitive towards the needs of the masses and reality.

My vision of free India is freedom from social oppression, political domination and economic exploitation of fellow human being.
India should be open to the thoughts, ideals and beliefs of all religions and Nations, but we should not be swayed by any one of them from the values and ideals we have imbibed for centuries.
As a signatory of the WTO, India is bound by the conditionalities of globalisation, liberalisation and free trade. State protection to our industries is gone. But still, within the framework of the WTO conditionalities, we should take all necessary steps to help our Indigenous enterprises to grow and flourish.
It has to be realised that the choice, in real terms, is not as between the old order and a new one, but between Order and Chaos in national and international economic life.
We should be able to enthuse out workforce to be more productive, as in Japan and European countries. Our workforce needs protection, security and incentives. Our manages, industrialists and supervisors should be able to lead by example.
I feel that India should constantly seek good relations with various countries. International cooperation, I am of the opinion, is essential for worldwide, inter-regional and intra-regional economic activity - if the problems of poverty, unemployment, inflation, pollution, depletion of non-renewable resources and food shortages are to be tackled efficiently.
Framers and executors of administrative policies and protectors of the law should be more sensitive towards the needs of the masses and reality. Their approach should be one of a public servant rather than trying to live up to the false notion that they are the masters. Proper supervisory mechanism, I personally believe, should be able to ensure that.
No Nation, in any era, has been able to provide relief, succour and equal status to all its citizens. Let’s face it, it is an Utopian concept. Disparities will be there, but in the India of my dreams the level of inequality will be lessening, day by day.
What can also be achieved is Education for All. The best bet for India is universalisation of Education. The education that needs to be imparted should be able to inculcate in the children and the youth a sense of discipline, camaraderie, belonging and high ethical and moral values. We should be able to bring out the educated youth in service of the society and the Nation.
The day we achieve such a social status is the day we can say that India has attained freedom in the true sense of the term.
