India:
My India-Bharatam:
Maha Bharatam
I have a simple dream, not bought from the dream-pedlers who flourish in the political bazaars in our country. This dream reached me gently from nowhere as a ray of light and touched the centre of the inner world of my fantasy in my child hood. And in the dawn of my youthful days, I saw it as a glorious vision radiating from the universal thoughts of prophets and preceptors like Aaruni, The Buddha, Jesus Christ, Mohammad and Gandhiji.
In repetitive monotone, the corridors of Indian history resound with our betrayal of our own noble ideals and the country succumbed to the temptations of material ownership, and power-possession, driving our chariots over the fallen bodies of our deprived neighbours.
While the historic midnight ushered in a dawn of political freedom, we chose to create a dungeon for our souls and continued to remain there in chain.
I feel that the Indian mind will pull down the walls of this prison to realise a world of fraternity and common pursuit, so that our long record of mutual strife and dissonance will be blotted out for ever.
To translate this vision into a life-mission is our sworn duty in these days of lost hopes and broken promises.
