I see India as a sleeping giant, my vision of which has only to turn its potential into a reality.
The pre-independence movement was a stormy one travelling at the speed of an aeroplane. But in its second phase it is travelling at the speed of a bullock cart. This slow progress of the intellectual movement in the second phase is the real problem, making the India of my vision a distant dream.
Now what is required is that we need a two-fold campaign. First, formal education with the target at 100% literacy. Second, the use of print and electronic media for the intellectual awakening of the people.
By increasing the speed of this process within 25 years we will surely be able to achieve the goal of overall natural progress.
In a political sense, India was born in 1947 and I am sure that in the social sense a new India will be born in 2025, provided we discharge our responsibilities towards creating this future.
