I dream of free India as a model abode where all live in brotherhood, equality, harmony and peace, without the dividing walls of caste and religion, where poverty, ignorance and superstitions are replaced with prosperity, knowledge and enlightenment. Is this only a dream? When I hear the school children (of A.P) recite every day “India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters …….”, I feel my dream coming true. At the same time, I realize the immense responsibility vested on us, who have harvested the rich cultural heritage of India. We need a cultural Renaissance. We have to change according to the needs of the time. We must burn the stubbles of a glorious past, learn to identity chaff and grain of the harvest of wisdom, discard the chaff, and sow the seeds of wisdom in the fertile minds of our younger generation and nurture them to blossom into competent citizens, capable of being the standard bearers in the race of progress - social, economic and intellectual—so that free India stands as a symbol of nobility, and integrity.
