My vision of Free India is centred on three Ps - Peace, Progress and Prosperity. Without Peace - both internal and external - Progress is not possible. Progress automatically leads to Prosperity. Peace is not only necessary, it is possible, if only citizens realise their responsibility to abjure violence, to respect the sensibilities of fellow-men and respond to them with grace, if not enlightened self-interest.
Progress depends upon peoples’ willingness to invest, workers’ determination to excel and the State’s readiness to cooperate. South Korea is an eloquent example of the coordination of these paramount virtues. With peace and progress assured, prosperity is guaranteed.
In the kind of India I envisage, education, especially at the primary level, is assured, merit is recognised and not pawned for electoral purposes, corruption is brought to a determined end and freedom, in all its manifestations, is manifest. This is not an impossible dream to entertain.
