India should try and see that the widening gulf between the haves and the have-nots is bridged to the extent possible.

India has had a hoary past and, per force, will have to have a bright future since history often repeats itself. What is that future that I foresee for this great nation of ours?
Future India would have a pluralistic, spiritual (spirituality is simply sharing and caring), ethical society where people following different religions, talking different languages, and eating varied foods all live together in peace and harmony —they live and let live. Every man, woman and child should live for others while trying to contribute one’s mite to the development of that very society. Equality in opportunity, right to work, right to rounded education that gives both external, objective, intellect based information and the more important internal, subjective, and intuition based wisdom, is available for every child born with an emphasis on one’s obligation to society.
India should try and see that the widening gulf between the haves and the have-nots is bridged to the extent possible. The village poor, who in our political system have little voice, should get their due, at least in the basic necessities of clean drinking water, three square meals a day with food that is uncontaminated with human and / or animal excreta, and a clean atmosphere to live in. No one should go to bed hungry.
Is this utopia possible? It is only possible in India where there was a great heritage of the first stanza of the Ishopanishad, which states that everything here belongs to Nature (God) and happiness is in giving and not getting. If every one of us understands this where is the problem in attaining this future for our motherland? Life is short to hate others, to benefit from greed, and to live for oneself. May my country rise to that level where we live like one large family-vasudaiva kutumbakam.
