Freedom is the first and foremost need for a country and for its citizens. So, I want that India will remain ever free
The next most important need for free India is EDUCATION. Primary and secondary school education should be guaranteed to all. The main aim of education should be to make everyone an Arya - a cultured human being. The DON’Ts of ethics should be imparted at primary school mainly through stories and the DOs at secondary level through parallel passages from the scriptures of various religions, so that the students imbibe not only the virtues but have a firm conviction that all religions teach man to BE GOOD & DO GOOD. At University, this core teaching, compulsory for all programmes, should give a glimpse of the spiritual dimensions of the ULTIMATE FREEDOM - MOKSHA or SALVATION according to various religions and philosophies.
Freedom of expression should be respected. Politicians particularly, should be tolerant towards expression of views with which they do not agree or which they seek to oppose vehemently.
Democracy should evolve from grass-roots level to ensure GOVERNMENT BY THE PEOPLE. With cent per cent education and provision of adequate means of communication (telephone, e-mail, voting machines, etc.), people of each locality should have an effective say in the administration of their (Ward-level) locality and to elect representatives to higher levels of administration (legislature, parliament, heads of government at state and national levels). There should be no ‘Ruling party’ and ‘Opposition Parties’ but only ‘Serving Party’ and ‘Cooperating Parties’. Every member of every party should be free to vote according to his conscience and there should be no ‘whip’ or party-dictat.
Finally, I would like to view free India to be constantly trying to ensure similar freedom to all the people of the world, and strive to evolve a World Federation to create a One World Family - Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. - Amen.
