The '7 Islands International Film Festival' has been scheduled in October'2005. The venue being Mumbai, India. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is organizing the event along with Yusuf Meherally Centre ,Gandhi Smarak Nidhi and Srividya Sansthan, India. The theme for the film festival is "Non-Violent Resistance And Global Disarmament". It is a non-competitive film festival and aims at targeting the youth. Films produced on the subject/themes of civil disobedience, non-violent resistance/movement, disarmament and social justice are eligible for entry in the film festival.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS
Mr. K. M. Munshi founded Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in 1938 with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has grown, from small beginnings, into a comprehensive all-India intellectual, cultural and educational movement. It has 115 centers in India and 6 centers overseas (UK, USA, Canada, Portugal, Mexico City and South Africa) and the 7th center launched in Sydney Australia.

The Yusuf Meherally Centre was started in 1961 in memory of Yusuf Meherally. The center aims to promote national integration and study the problems of urbanization. It also deals with transformation of rural area through mobilization of urban resources with the participation of local people.

Gandhi Smarak Nidhi which is involved in the activities like organizing Khadi & village industries exhibition. Organizing talks, discussions &
seminars on topics of peace, non-violence, communal harmony, human rights,
democratic values, Gandhian thought and current problems.

Srividya Santhan which is a revolutionary institution dedicated for social and economical development through spiritual up-gradation, too have tied up for the noble cause.

Please note the following:
- The transport/freight for returning the films shall be borne by the festival authorities. The material thus shall be returned to the concerned within 4 weeks after the conclusion of the festival.
- The transport/freight for sending films including samples and other publicity material etc. shall be borne by the applicants.
- Any person, organization or agency can extend the film entries. But, the decision of the selection committee shall be final and binding on all participants.
- As the festival is only a cultural and non-commercial event, no payment or royalty can be made for the film screenings.
- Last Date for arrival of the film for the festival is 30/08/2005.
