Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School,
Jubilee Hills, gave a Dance Ballet ‘Neethi Chandrika’ at
Ravindra Bharathi on July 4, 2008. One hundred and forty
students from Classes-II to X participated in this ballet. The
six popular Panchatantra stories – The Monkey & Woodcutter,
The Tortoise and the Swan, The Snake and the Mongoose, The
Pigeon and the Hunter, Lion and the Rabbit, Ashadbhooti were
beautifully choreographed by the dance teacher, Smt. Sarala
Kumari.
The Principal, Smt. C. Rama Devi, welcomed the gathering. Shri
S. Gopalakrishnan, Vice-Chairman, Hon.
Secretary-cum-Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Hyderabad
Kendra, gave the inaugural address. The Chief Guest, Shri P.
Ramakanth Reddy IAS, Chief Secretary to Government and the
Guest of Honour, Abhinaya Kala Ratna Geetha Ganesan commended
the efforts of the students. Dr. (Mrs.) Y. Saraswathi Rao,
Chairperson, School Managing Committee, was pleased that the
students had put up a spectacular dance ballet.
As in the past, the school donated Rs. 25,000/- towards the
upkeep of the Lion-Tailed Macaque to the Curator of the Nehru
Zoological Park, Rs. 1,00,000/- towards SACH programme to
Apollo Hospital and Rs. 5,000/- each to Vivekananda Grammar
School and theVillage schools at Shalpanapuram & Sabbidigudem
towards the child to child Nutrition programme.
