Dance Ballet

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School, Jubilee Hills, gave a Dance Ballet ‘Neethi Chandrika’ at Ravindra Bharathi on July 4, 2008. One hundred and forty students from Classes-II to X participated in this ballet. The six popular Panchatantra stories – The Monkey & Woodcutter, The Tortoise and the Swan, The Snake and the Mongoose, The Pigeon and the Hunter, Lion and the Rabbit, Ashadbhooti were beautifully choreographed by the dance teacher, Smt. Sarala Kumari.
The Principal, Smt. C. Rama Devi, welcomed the gathering. Shri S. Gopalakrishnan, Vice-Chairman, Hon. Secretary-cum-Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Hyderabad Kendra, gave the inaugural address. The Chief Guest, Shri P. Ramakanth Reddy IAS, Chief Secretary to Government and the Guest of Honour, Abhinaya Kala Ratna Geetha Ganesan commended the efforts of the students. Dr. (Mrs.) Y. Saraswathi Rao, Chairperson, School Managing Committee, was pleased that the students had put up a spectacular dance ballet.
As in the past, the school donated Rs. 25,000/- towards the upkeep of the Lion-Tailed Macaque to the Curator of the Nehru Zoological Park, Rs. 1,00,000/- towards SACH programme to Apollo Hospital and Rs. 5,000/- each to Vivekananda Grammar School and theVillage schools at Shalpanapuram & Sabbidigudem towards the child to child Nutrition programme.

Foundation Day 2008-09

The School celebrated Foundation Day on July 5, 2008. The Investiture ceremony, Proficiency Awards and Tree plantation were the highlights of the day.
The Chief Guest, Shri T. Krishna Prasad, I.P.S., (Inspector General of Police and Director, Police Communications) presented colours to the New Apex Body and gave away the proficiency awards. He applauded and congratulated the institution for its accomplishments and achievements. The Principal, Smt. C. Rama Devi welcomed the dignitaries and parents.

Bhavan’s Students excel in Olympiad

The students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, excelled in National Science Olympiad (NSO) and National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) held last year. Ten students bagged cash awards 8 in NSO and 2 in NCO. Shreya Vaswani of Class-III ranked 9th in the NCO and received an award of Rs. 5,100/-
Arklekha Neogi of Class-V received an award of Rs. 3,100/- having secured 7th rank in the NSO. The remaining 8 students received awards of  Rs. 250/- (3) and Rs. 500/- (5).
