Summer Festival

The Kendra’s summer festival of dance and music was held from May 9 to 11, at Providence College Auditorium, Coonoor.

The summer festival began with Smt. S. Sowmya’s vocal recital. The Chief Guest of the evening was Shri W. I. Devaram, Inspector General of Police (Retd).

A Bharatanatyam performance by Kalaimamani Smt. Urmila Sathyanarayanan and her students of Natya Sankalpaa was held on the second day. Various folk dances from different parts of the country were also brought to life. The function was presided over by Shri Muthuswamy, General Manager, BSNL, Coonoor.

The third day’s programme was a Kathak duet by Smt. Nirupama and Shri Rajendra from Bangalore. Their magical performance was given a standing ovation.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Smt. Nalini Prakash, Secretary, Bhavan, Nilgiris Kendra.
