'Pilgrimage to the source': Hindu - Christian Interfaith Journey

The Focolare Movement, Italy; organized "Pilgrimage to the source"- Hindu - Christian Interfaith Journey, during 1st to 8th June, 2018; at three places - Tonadico (North Italy), Sophia University, Lopiano (Florence) and Mariapolis Centre, Castlegandolfo (Rome), in Italy. It was organized to understand and experience the "Experience of the period of mystical light and inspiration of Chiara Lubich, the spiritual leader and founder of Focolare Movement (summer 1949)". Dr. Prachi A. Moghe, Asst. Director, Bhavan's Post-Graduate & Research Dept., participated in this Journey as a representative of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
On 1st June 2018, the programme commenced with the presentation of the Abba School by Dr. Fabio Ciardi (Italy). Prof. Shubhada Joshi (Mumbai), and Dr. Kezenvino Aram (Coimbatore), traced the Hindu-Christian Interfaith Journey. Bishop Felix Machado, Vatican, was the Guest of Honour at this event.
The sessions for reading and interpreting the texts of Chiara Lubich were held on 2nd and 3rd June, 2018, at Town Hall, Tonadico, Italy. Dr. Judy Povilus (Italy) introduced the scripture "The beginnings of paradise'49."
Chiara Lubich's three texts on Love, Nature and City were read by Professors of Abba School (Italy) and were interpreted by Indian scholars including Prof. Shubhada Joshi, Dr. Priya Vaidya, Dr. Meenal Katarnikar (University of Mumbai), Dr. L. Raja, Ms. Chandra Ravikumar, Ms. V. Karuna Sagari, Dr. Kezevino Aram, Dr. Suryakanti Ayyangar from Shanti Ashram, Coimbatore, Prof. Deepali Bhanot and Dr. A. K. Merchant (Delhi).
Chiara Lubich's text on the City was interpreted as an etymological and spiritual study by Dr. Prachi Moghe. She emphasized on the spiritual importance of the text and traced the journey of incompleteness to completeness of being.
On the 4th and 5th June, 2018, the Indian delegation visited Sophia University, Lopiano. Prof. S. Natarajan, Vice-Chancellor, Gandhigram Rural University, Coimbatore; inaugurated the 'Mahatma Gandhi Section' at the library of Sophia Institute. Dr. Roberto Catalano and Dr. Paolo Frizzi, Professors, Abba School, jointly presented the paper on 'The Role of New Movements in Inter-religious dialogue'.
On 7th June 2018, the delegates paid visit to Chiara's Home where her tomb is housed in a Chapel, in Rome and there they had a meeting with Dr. Jesus Moran, Co-President, Focolare Movement.
