Students from Narayana Vidyalayam bagged the first prize

The Mega Children's drama festival and drama competition was organised by Bhavan's Nagpur Kendra at Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Auditorium, Nagpur in December 2017. The event had a participation of 600 students from 35 schools located in and around Nagpur. The winners were presented with cash prizes and mementos while the participating schools were presented with certificates. The mega event was held at the initiative of Nagpur Kendra Chairman Shri Banwarilal Purohit. The festival and competition help to promote creativity, originality and courage among students. Smt. Uma Vaidya, former Vice Chancellor of Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek inaugurated the festival. The inaugural function was presided over by Dr. (Smt) Sunanda Sonarikar, Secretary of the Bhavan's Nagpur Kendra. Smt. Rupali More, Actress was the chief guest at the valedictory session. Prof. Q.H. Jeevaji, Executive Committee Member of the Kendra presided over the session. The following plays were found remarkable at the festival: 'Shuaa' by Narayana Vidyalayam, Nagpur, 'Lilavati Punardarshanam' by School of Scholars, Atrey Layout, Nagpur and 'For God's sake' by Tip Top Convent, Nagpur.
Bhavan's schools also made their mark in various categories such as lighting, sound effects, script writing, direction, set design, acting (male and female). The efforts of the Bhavan were well appreciated.
The visual and print media coverage for the festival was commendable.
