'Satthwa'- Value Education Series launched
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan partnering with Oxford University Press launched the Value Education Series- 'Satthwa' for class I to V, on 25 February 2019 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, T.D Road, Kochi.
Swami Bhadreshanandaji, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Vytilla was the Chief guest at the function. Sri CA Venugopal C Govind, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra presided over the function. The Director Kochi Kendra, Sri E Ramankutty introduced the series to the invited guests. Sri Sivaramakrishnan Venkateswaran, Managing Director, Oxford University Press, India spoke about the role of Oxford University Press on taking the Value Education Series forward. Smt. Jaya Jacob, Coordinator, Research Centre delivered the address of welcome.
Speaking on the occasion Swami Bhadreshanandaji focussed on the need for inculcating the age old values in our future generation. Chairman Sri CA Venugopal C Govind applauded the laudable efforts of the Research Centre and appreciated the Oxford University Press for partnering with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in this venture. He also urged both teachers and parents to take up the challenge of imparting the series to the future generation thus leading every child to the path of transformation.
The Director Sri E Ramankutty while introducing the series mentioned that, ‘Satthwa’ includes lessons that are simple and lucid focusing on varied aspects of human attitude, thoughts, behaviour, etc. which will help students in character formation and acquiring a strong cultural foundation. He also mentioned that topics selected are age appropriate and include both values and life skills. This series is an endeavour of the noble thoughts, combined efforts to catalyze a substantial change in the life of a child who goes through the system of education which Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan offers.
Sri Sivaramakrishnan Venkateswaran, Managing Director, Oxford University Press India said that they were very pleased to partner with the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in bringing out a series on Value Education for primary school students. He also added that it was a pleasure to collaborate with a renowned institution like Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan that has been at the forefront of learning and education for decades.
The formal launch of the series concluded with an expression of profound gratitude to all the dignitaries and guests present at the function.
