A Free Employability Training Programme by TCS for the economically backward section of the society for those who underwent computer training courses under Gandhi Institute of Computer Education and Information Technology was inaugurated on June 4, 2012 in Chennai. 80 students enrolled for this training programme. Shri L. Sabaretnam, Chairman, Bhavan’s Chennai Kendra welcomed the students and Shri R. Nataraj, IPS (Retd.), Director, Tamilnadu Public Service Commission, inaugurated the programme. Shri Sabaretnam emphasised Bhavan’s commitments towards the upliftment of the economically weaker section of the society while Shri Nataraj congratulated Bhavan’s efforts. Students who are found suitable after the training will be offered employment with TCS. Shri K. N. Ramaswamy, Director, Bhavan’s Chennai Kendra in his address said that the Kendra would soon upgrade the hardware and software and this training will be offered on a quarterly basis and extended to other South Indian centres also.
