Rituals
Of late Satyanarayana pooja is becoming very popular. I think that the significance is of Satya as God and for people to take a vow not to deviate from truth. But people listen to the stories narrated on the occasion which give more importance to rituals. I am unable to reconcile to this. Will you please enlighten me ?
I am going to ask you a personal question. Have you witnessed God?
Why does the Hindu Religion have so many different gods and goddesses ? What is the main name behind all these forms ?
In Vishnupurana, Vishnu is the chief deity, in Shivapurana, Shiva is the main God, so on and so forth. Who is the greatest of them all ?
When we visit any temple we usually carry either flowers as a sign of our devotion or respect to God. When God is so powerful, is it necessary or correct to offer these items or put money in hundies kept in a temple?
Can you please give the significance of Arti and why we touch the flames with our hands and then to our forehead?
Is there any proof that there is another life waiting for us after our death ?
Im deeply interested in Yoga and Meditation. Unfortunately, my hectic schedule does not give me enough time for spiritual pursuit. I wonder whether, Yoga, meditations and other activities to be started only after retirement.
I have lived in India and I am currently living in the United States. According to me, much of progress that I see in US is because it is secular in its truest sense. May I kindly know your opinion about it.
