1997   Mr.Bill Gates, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft Corporation, USA, addresses a meeting under the auspices of Bhavan's Gandhi Institute of Computer Education & Information Technology in the presence of Prime Minister Shri H.D.Deve Gowda, Maharshtra Governor Dr. P.C. Alexander, Chief Minister Manohar Joshi, Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde, Bhavan's President Shri C. Subramaniam and others.
Inauguration of Bhavan's Sardar Patel Educational and Cultural Foundation and Bhavan's Bal Mandir at Nadiad by Swami Dayananda Saraswati of Arsha Gurukulam, Coimbatore.
Bhavan's Institute of Environmental Ecological Management & Research is started in association with Coorg Foundation in Kodugu; Karnataka State.
Bhavan's Kodungallur Kendra is started.
Bhavan's Prism School at Satna, M.P. is started.

Prime Minister Shri H.D. Deve Gowda visits the Bhavan on January 3, 1997. The Prime Minister unveils fine portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the consolidator and Builder of Modern India who is also a Bhavan's Founder Member. He also releases a Bhavan's Book "Sardar Patel and Indian Muslims" by Dr. Rafiq Zakaria.
The New Block of Bhavan's Vidyashram, Jaipur, is opened by Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
Summan a day-care centre for the mentally - ill, sponsored by the Bhavan's Calicut Kendra is opened.
The Exhibition of Architects & Builders of Modern India is inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri I.K. Gujral at the Bhavan USA Centre on August 15, 1997.
1998   Shri C. Subramaniam, Bhavan's President, is conferred the highest National Award Bharat Ratna.
Smt. M.S. Subbulakshmi, Hon. Member of the Bhavan is conferred the highest National Award Bharat Ratna.
Shri Girdharilal Mehta, President Emeritus, Trustee, a far-sighted institution-Builder,a philanthropist and Bhavan's largest single donor, passes away on July 4, 1998, at Calcutta, at the age of 91.
Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, Prime Minister of India inaugurates a computer Centre of Bhavan's Gandhi Institute of Computer Education and Information Technology, at Gwalior in collaboration with Pt. Krishna Behari Vajpayee Trust on Septemper 21, 1998.
Shri C. Subramaniam, Bhavan's President, opens Bhavan's M.P. Birla Fundamental Research Centre at Bangalore.
Bhavan's Ramakrishna Dorairaj Sadan of Chennai Kendra is opened.

The Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, visits Bhavan's Headquarters on November 6, 1998 and released the Bhavan's 27 Gandhiana books and inaugurates the 8th unit of the Bhavan's Gandhi Institute of Computer education & Information Technology.
1999   Bhavan's Allahabad Kendra is started.
Inauguration of its 9th Unit of Gandhi Institute of Computer Education & Information Technology at Kolkata by Shri K.R. Narayanan, Hon'ble President of India, February 12,1999.
2000   Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan receives the Communal Harmony Award 1999 for its outstanding contribution to the cause of promotion of communal harmony and national integration.
Bhavan's Valanchery Kendra is started.
Bhavan's Taliparamba Kendra is started.
Bhavan's Institute of Management Science is started in Kolkata.
Bhavan's Puthucode Kendra is started.
Bhavan's Raipur Kendra is started.
Bhavan's Kanchipuram Kendra is started.
