Bhavan's Ramakrishna Institute of Teacher Education is started at Ramanattukara, Kerala.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Arts & Science College, Calicut, Kerala is started.
Bhavan's Cultural Centre at Andheri, Mumbai is started.
2006   The Prime Minister of India dedicates the First Unit of Bhavan's Gandhi Institute of Computer Education & Information Technology to the memory of Bharata Ratna (late) C. Subramaniam, former Union Minister and former President of the Bhavan, at a function held on October 6.

2009   Dr. P. Jayaraman, advisor Bhavan's USA Centre, Dr. John Marr, Hon. Secretary, Bhavan's London Centre and Dr. Mathoor Krishnamurthy, Director, Bhavan's Bangalore Kendra are conferred Padma Shri by the President of India.
The First Munshi Sanmaan of Rs. 1 Lakh is awarded to the 97 year old giant of Gujarati literature, a Jnanapeeth awardee Shri Rajendra Shah. (March 7)
