Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan took over the higher primary school from Geetha Shishu Vihara Sangha, Kollegal through a gift deed executed on July 1, 2009. And the school was later named as Bhavan's Geetha Vidyalaya, Kollegal.
At present, the school has classes from preschool to Std. X and it is affiliated to Karnataka State Secondary Education Board with English as medium of instruction.
