The Vidyalaya was started in July 1983. It was inaugurated by Swami Kirtidanandji of the Ramakrishna Mission. The Vidyalaya is considered to be one of the premier institutions of the region. It is affiliated to the CBSE, New Delhi.
In July 2010, due to the increasing popularity of the school, it was decided to shift the Junior Wing of the school to new premises in Sector 33, Chandigarh.
Presently, with a strength of over 900 students in classes Pre Nursery to 5, it has very adroitly created a learning environment for its young students - a fine balance between holistic development and fun filled learning experiences.
