Bhavan's Kalasrjan Academy of Indian Classical Music, Dance & Fine Arts, was established on 2nd August 2008 by former Hon'ble Justice Vikas Sirpurkar (Supreme Court of India), in the presence of many dignitaries, mainly to train & promote Indian art & Culture through a systematic syllabi prepared by respective experts of the subjects and taught in the Guru-Shishya Parampara.
Three paramparas were established namely the sangeet, nritya and vadya wherein practical, theory, music and sanskrit are taught to all the students. The aim is to bring out a generation of educated performers in the vidarbha region where they may not be conversant with the in-depth nuances of the Indian classical art forms in practice.
For the past 14 years we have been working towards our mission to provide the students of this academy a way to grasp the fundamentals of these great fine arts in a very systematic, clear and patient manner so that the newly initiated artists not only will discover the fine aspects of these arts but also get introduced to the talent which lies dormant in them.
KALASRJAN is fortunate to have a set of artists who have themselves undergone rigorous training in a very traditional manner under great gurus and have matured as very good performers with the standing of their own.
The various streams of art instituted at KALASRJAN are Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Hindustani Classical Vocal, Carnatic Classical Vocal, Tabla and Sitar. All these streams are designed as Diploma Certificate Courses as a 3 year Introductory course leading on to a 2 year preliminary course and them a 3 year progressive course, making it a total of a eight year long association with the academy.
The course duration will be of 10 months only, i.e., June to March culminating in an exam. This to facilitate the students to pursue their academic challenges in the months of April & May.
