Shri Shankaracharya Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Delhi Kendra in its own way is contributing for fulfilling the above aim.
Besides conducting regular courses for teaching Sanskrit as a Language, SSSM is also trying to impart basic tenets of Indian culture to its students. Separate courses on the teaching of Bhagavadgita and Vedas are being run by SSSM and are very popular. Special teaching for Paurohitya (priesthood) is also being provided. In addition, ritual practice (yajÅˆa) is also being taught in performance. Special lecture series by expert scholars of Sanskrit and Sanskriti is also being organized.
Free 'Veda Classes for All' programme sponsored by Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Vedavidya Pratishthana, Ujjain (MHRD, Govt. of India) is also being held on weekends to popularize spoken Sanskrit. Sanskrit Sambhasana Shivira is also conducted with the help of Sanskrit Bharatiya Veda-Sammelan and Gita Jayanti prorammes are also organized annually.
SSSM is a Centre for Sanskrit and Sanskriti which is becoming a hub for learning Indian Values, through its original source in Sanskrit and promoting our ancient heritage with an approach of contextualizing it is current situations. It is therefore, that we are getting good quality of students and aspirants.
