Established in the year 2003, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School in Vijayanagar Mysore, Mysore is a top player in the category Schools in the Mysore. This well-known establishment started by Dr. Mathoor Krishnamurthy is also a well known cultural and social organization.
NEWS & EVENTS
761 students of 39 schools in Mysore participated in the General Knowledge quiz on October 26, 2026 of which Akash R of grade 10 stood first with 76% and Thanishka N. Mahesh stood first with 67%. The team of 20 students of BVB got an aggregate of 624 points which fetched them second place. The first place was bagged by Sadvidya High School with 649 points.
Bhavanotsava—Annual Day 2025-26
BVB students celebrated the 20th Annual Day — Bhavanotsava on December 27, 2025.
Prof. N. K. Lokanath, Honorable Vice chancellor, University of Mysore inaugurated the programme and addressed the gathering. 987 students participated in various programmes that depicted the life of personalities like Salumaradha Timakka, Shivaji and Gautam Buddha. The theme for the foundational level students was of Nature.
Staff Welfare Fund
Students and parents were informed about the financial assistance to two of our staff members, who were admitted to the hospital and have undergone major surgeries. Parents and students contributed voluntarily towards their medical expenses.
Rs.1,00,000 was donated to Mr. Mahadev (school bus driver) and 50,000 to Mr. Chandrashekar (Gardener).
A student Charvik V of Grade 1 generously donated Rs. 927, the savings from his piggy bank, for this noble cause.
Also, Students Dakshish of 3 & Kashish of 7 collected Rs.15,000 from neighbours, friends and relatives and donated it to the school.
Deekshitha S.S. of grade 10 participated at the Young Indians Parliament 2025 at Delhi after clearing the zonal and regional levels. She qualified for the Young Indians Parliament 2.0 finals held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on November 15 & 16. This programme was organised by Young Indians, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to nurture young minds and foster their spirit of leadership, innovation, and learning that plays a vital role in building future-ready youth. Students who represented Karnataka were felicitated in the Annual Session of Young Indians, Mysuru Chapter on November 28, 2025.
Annual Sports Day 2025
The Annual Sports Meet was held at the Muda Pavilion, Vidyavardhaka Engineering College Road on November 22, 2025.
Ms Chaitra B, the young and dynamic International Kho-Kho Player was the chief guest for the event.
The Annual Sports Day is a much-awaited event for BVB students, which fosters a sense of team spirit and a refreshing break from academics.
'Bhavanotsava' a two-day festival of music, dance and performing arts marking the 132nd birth anniversary of Kulapathi Dr. K.M. Munshi, Founder-President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mysuru was celebrated on February 8 - 9, 2020 at BVB premises in Vijayanagar, Mysuru.
Inaugurating the programme, renowned musician Smt. Dr. R. N. Srilatha recalled Dr. K.M Munshi's association with music, dance and arts. She lauded BVB, Mysuru Kendra in encouraging the cultural tradition.
Renowned musicians and students of Kalabharathi presented a music, dance and arts programme. BVB Bengaluru Chairman Sri N. Ramanuja, BVB Mysuru Chairman Dr. A. V. Narasimhamurthy, Treasurer Dr. A. T. Bhashyam, Director & Chairperson at Nrityalaya, Mysuru Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra, Former Administrator Wing Commander Sri S. C. Balasubramanyam and Administrator Sudhindra Raj and large number of parents of the music, dance and art lovers were present.
The students of Bhavan's Priyamvada Birla Inst. of Mgmt. visited Mathru Mandali Shishu Vikasa Kendra on February 27, 2020. The students actively spent time with the differently abled kids. Together they prepared artistically designed wax candles, paper bags, greeting cards and jewellery and also enjoyed singing and dancing with them.
The next day BPBIM students conducted a walkathon along with the differently abled kids from Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara temple, Vontikoppal to Mathru Mandali. The walkathon was flagged off by Sri Mohan Kumar, former Chairman, MUDA, Sri N. Ramanuja Chairman, BVB, Dr. A. V. Narasimhamurthy Resident Director BPBIM, Dr. A.T. Bhasyam Director BPBIM, Smt. Vijaya Urs President Mathru Mandali, Smt Vani Secretary Mathru Mandali. The Walkathon was followed by a street drama enacted to create awareness about Road safety amongst the public.
An Exhibition cum sale was also organised for the products prepared by the kids. The proceeds from the sale was used for the welfare of the differently abled kids.
Three professors of Bhavan's Priyamvada Birla Institute of Management Prof. Govardhan N, Prof. Sudhakar Kulkarni and Prof. Anusha Thangaraj are in North Dakota State University, USA for a period of two and half months on a Faculty Exchange programme on the different aspects of Management sciences.
