The Bhavans Kottayam Kendra was started in 1992-93. The founder Chairman was late Sri Mammen Varghese, Managing Editor of “ Malayala Manorama” newspaper group. That year itself we started the PG Diploma in Journalism for graduates. We are organizing this programme for the last 30 years. So far about 400 persons have acquired PG from our institution.

1. Bhavans Vidya Mandir
   In 2015 Dr P.G.R PIllai has taken over as chairman of Kottayam Kendra. A new executive committee has been constituted. Under the initiative of the new committee a school named as Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Kottayam has started. Though, started in a small way with five tiny tots, now we are imparting classes up to 7th standard.
2. Our Premises
   Our executive VP Prof. V.N.R Pillai and wife has given about 1 acre of land on long lease. We have started construction of a building sufficient enough to conduct the school at present. We are mobilising funds for the further development, by meeting well-wishers and friends. We are also thinking of forming a group of persons who will support the welfare activities of the Kendra.
3. The Annual Oration and Award
   We have instituted an annual award for a reputed philanthropist. The first one was presented to Sri. Gokulam Gopalan, the noted educationalist and business person, who is the founder of Gokulam Group.
   The award is named as “Dr Kulapathi K.M Munshi Award” and it is intended to perpetuate the ideals of late Sri K.M. Munshiji.
   The following dignitaries were the persons who delivered the oration till now.

   7. Dr. P. Chandramohan, Former Vice Chancellor of Kannur University
4. Convocation
   We are regularly organising convocation and conferring the P.G diplomas to the successful persons. So far 6 convocations were held at our premises.
5. “Bharatheeyam”
   The annual conclave of all the Bhavans of Kerala was hosted by us in 2017 at Kottayam. This was a very successful venture.
