Chess Championship 2025-26 U19

Manju Mahesh studying in Class 11 of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, Perumthiruthi, Kozhikode Kendra participated in 69th National School Games Chess Championship 2025-26 U19 Girls category as a team member for CBSE and the team secured second position and won silver medal. The team consisted of 5 members and other 4 members were from Velammal School, Chennai.

Manju Mahesh, a Class 11 student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, Perumthiruthi, Kozhikode Kendra, participated in CBSE National Individual Chess Tournament Under 19 Girls 2025-26 on September 4, 2025 at Udaipur, Rajasthan and secured overall 2nd runner up position


Asian Athletic Champion Devak Bhooshan Felicitated

At the Under-18 Asian Athletics Meet held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Devak Bhooshan, a Class 12 student of Bhavan’s Higher Secondary School, Chevayur, Calicut, Kerala, represented India in the high jump. He achieved an impressive jump of 2.03 meters, winning the silver medal and gaining national acclaim.
Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair, Chairman of the Calicut Kendra, presented a memento to Devak and his dedicated coach, Sri Dharmavruthan, the Physical Education Teacher at Bhavan’s School, Chevayur. Vice Chairman Srihari Menon, C.A., awarded cash prizes to both of them.


‘Dharmaratna’ Award

At a ceremony held in Nanminda, Calicut, Swami Chidanandapuri, the head of Adwaithasramam, Kolathur, conferred the prestigious Sanskriti Dharmaratna Award on Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair, Chairman of Calicut Kendra. The award, instituted by Bharateeyam Sanskriti Nanminda, recognises outstanding contributions in Indian culture, education and literature. In his keynote address, Swami Chidanandapuri praised Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair’s invaluable service in promoting Indian heritage and values.
Prominent figures, including Sri Anilkumar Vallil (Chairman, Malabar Medical College), Lt. Colonel Udayavihari and Sri V.G. Thambi (Film Director), addressed the gathering. Acharyapathni Smt. Anandavalli Angepatt and other dignitaries were present at the event.

Investiture Ceremony

The Aramana Tharavad (ancestral house) of Kizhakkan Kozhuval in Nileswaram, Kasargode District, Kerala, is the hereditary trustee of the renowned Mannampurathu Kavu Bhagavathi Temple, one of the eight Saktheya Temples of North Kerala. Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair, Chairman of the BVB Calicut Kendra and a senior member of the Aramana Tharavad family, was appointed as the Aramana Achan. The present Raja of Alladaswarupam, Sri Udayavarma Raja, honoured him with a sword, dagger, arakacha stick and a palm-leaf umbrella. The Raja whispered the title of ‘Aramana Achan’ three times into Acharyasri’s ear, and the investiture ceremony (Ariyittu Vazhcha) followed. Dressed as a warrior chief, Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair, accompanied by his family, relatives and admirers, proceeded with a traditional procession, including Panchavadyam and Thalappoli, to the Mannampurath Bhagavathi Temple. He offered his respects to Mahachanda Yogeswari and sought her blessings before returning to the Aramana Tharavad.


Parvathi Smruthi Mandapam Inauguration

The Parvathi Smruthi Mandapam at Bhavan's School, Chevayur, Calicut, was officially inaugurated in the memory of late Dr. Parvathi, an alumna of the institution.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Shobha and Dr. Prassanna Kumar, parents of Dr. Parvathi, who dedicated the stage to their daughter's memory. The event was inaugurated by Acharya Sri A.K.B. Nair, Chairman of Bhavan's Kendra, Calicut.
