Bhavan's Tripura Vidyamandir was set on the soil of Tripura on 2nd October 1996 by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. It is the product of constant hard work, dedication and lots of good will of Late Regional Director K.V. Gopal Krishnan and Late Administrator B.C Banerjee.
Some of the special features of this Institution includes individual cottage module for the tiny tots, extension of playground, library facilities, access of computer, well-equipped laboratory etc. it is co-educational, C.B.S.E School with 100% success at the Board Exam.
Besides, individuals attention to the Children, parental care, wise counseling are the principles of this institution. There is Swavalamban institution where women learned stitching and Gandhi institution for teaching computer. Thus it has become a popular institution in the city.
Apart from BTVM, there are 6 other Institutions serving under Kendra. Bhavan's Kala Kendra which is actively running in the city to promote different co-curricular activities.
The institution having several mllestones yet to achieve. At present it is one of the shining stars in the field of education. The institution works with the mission at making students independent, well behaved and good citizen of our mother India.

Science Camp

Vigyan Ghar is a 10-day residential science camp by Pragati Vigyan Sanstha under VIBHA, designed as a ‘science reality show’ with hands-on learning. Ananya Sen, a Class 11 student, was among 20 selected participants from across India and secured 2nd prize at the All India level. The camp focused on the 5R principle, promoting sustainability. Students created eco-friendly products, studied water conservation, explored physics through practical projects, and gained real-world exposure through field visits—fostering scientific thinking, environmental responsibility, and self-reliance.

NSS Special Camp

Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir and BTVM NSS UNIT successfully conducted an enriching 7-day NSS Special Camp, focusing on the holistic development of students through scientific exposure, social awareness, and community service.

Visit of Padmashree Prof Arunoday Saha

Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir was extremely proud and honoured by the visit of Padmashree Prof Arunoday Saha. He was appraised about the recent development and ongoing curriculum and his suggestions and advice was noted for future implementation.

World Water Day


Kritika Sarkar of Class 4 secured the 1st Rank in the Grade 3 category at the 14th edition of the ‘World Water Day’ National Level Inter-School Colouring Competition, held on March 14, 2026 organised by the Heritage Foundation of Art & Culture.

National Science Day

On February 28, 2026, Bhavan’s Tripura Vidya Mandir school celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm under the theme ‘Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat’. The day commemorates the discovery of the Raman Effect by the eminent Indian scientist C. V. Raman.


Felicitations

Sri Pradip Debnath, Music Teacher of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir was felicitated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Sri Yogi Adityanath, for representing Tripura and performing Bengali Folk Dance in the programme ‘Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat’, held at Lucknow on the occasion of

International Letter Writing Competition

Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir student, Hrithika Bhattacharjee of Class 9, was awarded third position at circle level for entry in Universal Postal Union International Letter Writing Competition 2025. She won a cash prize of Rs. 5000, Silver Ganesha and a certificate.

Level 1 of Scienergy 3.0

Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, Dibiyanka Saha and Bibhor Pal secured 3rd position in Level 1 of Scienergy 3.0 for their model titled ‘Braille vs Pentadot’, organised by Techno College of Engineering, Agartala, in association with the Tripura State Council for Science and Technology.

School Essay Competition 2025–26

Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, Sreshtha Bhattacharjee, Sneharika Dey and Malini Bhattacharya in the Junior Category and Swadvika Chowdhury, Shrestha Datta, and Moumita Baishya in the Senior Category on securing positions in the School Essay Competition 2025–26 organised by Tata Building India. Arpit Chakraborty secured position among the top 10 participants at Bangla Sanskriti Baloy.


Young Authors

Two talented students of Class IX of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidya Mandir achieved a commendable achievement in the field of literature. Their books were published in December 2025—Tamishra Deb’s ‘Silent Waves’ and Srijani Guru’s ‘Untold Stories’. These two books are priced at Rs. 150 and they are available on Flipkart.

Cycling Rally

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir organised a vibrant celebration of youth and vitality. The girls took charge with an empowering Cycling Rally, while the boys championed harmony with a Run for Peace. Honouring Swami Vivekananda’s legacy through action and fitness!


Rabindranath Tagore Award

Dipannita Bhowmik received the Rabindranath Tagore Award in the International Art Competition 2025, organised by the Art Society (Monalisa, Academy of fine arts).


44th Book Fair

Abirata Bhattacharjee and Samriddha Holme Chowdhury of class 12 secured the first position in the 44th Book Fair in Agartala.


Yogasana Championship 2025–26

Chayansmrith Deb, received the 1st prize in the 69th National School Games Yogasana Championship 2025–26, organised by the School Games Federation of India.



New Telescope–STAR GAZER

Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir inaugurated a new telescope called STAR GAZER bringing the wonders of the Universe closer to the young learners.

Arshi Kotha State Level Programme

The school performed very well in the Arshi Kotha state-level programme. In the Wall Magazine Competition, the students secured 1st position, and in Kotha Chobi competition, Anurag secured a prize in the Top 15, and Debojit and Bishal achieved positions in the Best 30.

Industrial Visit

Bhavan’s Tripura Teacher Training College (BTTTC), Anandanagar, Agartala, organised an industrial visit on December 8, 2025 under the Environment Education Programme sponsored by the Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB). The visit aimed to provide experiential learning to the teacher trainees by linking environmental education with real-world industrial and ecological practices. The visit covered two important destinations—North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) and the Adarini Vermi Fertilizer & Research Centre.

Gita Contest Quiz Competition

ISKCON, Agartala organised the Gita Contest Quiz Competition. Pritha Chakraborty (Class 8) got 2nd Position and received a prize, certificate and Rs. 2000 cash. In an online quiz competition for all, Soumyajit Chakraborty (Class 9) and Aishi Das (Class 9) secured 1st position. Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir also received an award for participating in a De-addiction Campaign.

SIP Arithmetic Genius All-India Inter-School Contest 2025

The State Final Prize Distribution Ceremony of the SIP Arithmetic Genius All-India Inter-School Contest 2025 was held on January 2, 2026 at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. Samrat Shil of Class 2 secured the position of 2nd Runner-up and was awarded a certificate, memento, and a cash prize of Rs. 3,000. In addition, Anurima Saha of Class 4 and Debosmita Barman of Class 5 were honoured as Best Performers among the top ten performers and received certificates and mementos.

TATASTEEL Chess championship

Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir student, Shakya Singha Modak secured 1st position at TATASTEEL Chess championship 2026 Under-19 Rapid at Kolkata.

Know Your Leader

Ananya Sen, a Class 11 Science student of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, represented Tripura at the national ‘Know Your Leader’ programme and visited Parliament on December 25, 2025. Selected among 108 students, she showcased Tripura’s culture and was one of the 12 speakers in the Central Hall. The experience became a proud milestone in her academic journey.
