Birth Anniversary of Kulapati Munshi

On December 30, 2025, the Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management (BCCM), Bhubaneswar, celebrated the 138th Birth Anniversary of Kulapati Dr. Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi, the illustrious founder of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. The event was a heartfelt tribute to Munshi’s vision of blending tradition with modernity and nurturing education as a force for national development.
The celebration began with floral tributes to Kulapati Munshi, followed by reflections on his life and contributions. The programme commenced with an introductory speech by Honorable Chairman Lt. Gen. J.K. Mohanty, who urged students to imbibe Munshi’s values of integrity, service, and courage, reminding them that true education lies in shaping character and contributing to society.
The celebration was enriched by vibrant cultural performances. Students staged a role play on Munshi’s life, dramatising his contributions as a freedom fighter, educationist, and visionary leader. The highlight was a spirited ramp walk on national integration, where students showcased India’s diversity through attire and messages of unity, echoing Munshi’s belief in cultural synthesis.
The commemoration concluded with floral tributes and a collective pledge to uphold the ethos of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan—integrating knowledge with character, and education with purpose.

Blood Donation Camp

On November 19, 2025, Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management (BCCM), organised a meaningful and impactful Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Rotary Club Metro of Bhubaneswar. The initiative was graciously led and inaugurated by the Hon’ble Director General and Vice Chairman, Col. Sriprakash Pany (Veteran), whose vision and commitment to social responsibility inspired students, faculty, and volunteers to participate wholeheartedly. This was the second Blood Donation Camp of the year. Medical professionals from Capital Hospital ensured a safe and hygienic donation process, while student volunteers assisted with documentation, coordination and awareness-raising.

Orientation Programme

A thoughtfully curated three-day Orientation Programme was conducted for the new students of the PGDM Batch 2025–2027 at Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management (BCCM), Bhubaneswar. Designed to integrate the fresh batch into the ethos of Bhavan and to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities ahead, the programme combined inspirational addresses, academic insights, industry exposure, spiritual guidance and creative expression.

Convocation 2025

Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management (BCCM), Bhubaneswar, proudly hosted its Convocation-2025 on August 24, 2025, marking a milestone in the academic journey of its graduating students. The ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Professor T. G. Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, New Delhi, as the Chief Guest, and Professor Amiya Kumar Rath, Vice Chancellor of BPUT, Rourkela, as the Guest of Honour.
The guests along with Chairman of BCCM, conferred PGDM degrees to students of three batches—2021-23, 2022-24 and 2023-25, motivating them with the mantra “Dream, Dream, and Dream,” leading to Vision, Mission and Action. The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of 52 gold medals by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour to students who had excelled academically.

International Yoga Day

Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management (BCCM), Bhubaneswar, proudly observed International Yoga Day on June 21, 2025, in alignment with the global celebration that promotes the holistic benefits of Yoga for physical, mental, & spiritual well-being. The event was held in the Institute’s Munshi Hall, where the BCCM community came together under the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’.
The session was conducted by Sri Ambika Prasad Das, a well-known Yoga practitioner & former Senior Executive of the Food Corporation of India (FCI).

SELEBRATION

On April 4, 2025, Bhavan’s Centre at Bhubaneswar was abuzz with excitement for ‘Selebration’, the much-anticipated annual day. It brought together the Bhavan family in a joyous celebration of unity and pride.
The distinguished Chief Guest was Mr. Soubhagya Kumar Tripathy, AVP, State Head of Aditya Birla Group, Hindalco Industries Ltd., Odisha.
A wave of pride swept through the audience as medals, certificates and trophies were conferred, showcasing the exceptional talent, dedication, and perseverance of the students. Honours were awarded for achievements across cultural activities and competitions. The active participation of students in sports events not only reflected their enthusiasm but also their holistic development, which was duly rewarded with trophies and accolades.
The cultural programme added vibrancy and spice to the celebration, captivating the audience with energetic dances, soul-stirring music, and poignant skits. The renowned singer, Santanu Nayak, enchanted everyone with his melodious voice, delivering a musical performance that left the audience spellbound.
Selebration 2025 was not merely an event; it was an experience—a tapestry of joy, inspiration, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who attended.

Walkathon

On April 26, 2025, 25 students and one faculty member from Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management (BCCM), Bhubaneswar, took part in a 6 km Walkathon organised by the Rotary Club (Eco), Bhubaneswar. The event aimed to promote road safety awareness and highlight the importance of minimising unnecessary honking especially near educational institutions and hospitals.
The Walkathon emphasised the need to reduce noise pollution, which can have adverse effects on all but specially for young students, patients and senior citizens, Excessive honking can lead to significant disturbance, potentially causing health complications for those with sensitivities. By participating in this event, our students demonstrated their commitment to creating a more considerate and responsible community.
Rotarians had invited our Vice Chairman cum Director General Col Sriprakash Pany as the Guest of Honour for the event. He addressed the participants, emphasising the significance of road safety and noise pollution awareness. Thereafter, he flagged off the event and himself led the Walkathon.

Free Hearing Camp

Following the Walkathon, a free hearing camp was conducted. It provided an opportunity for individuals to assess their hearing health, especially the seniors. This initiative underscores the importance of ear care and the potential consequences of prolonged exposure to loud noises.

Solar Panel System installed

Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management, Bhubaneswar has taken significant strides in reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainable practices by installing a 50 KWP Grid-connected solar panel system, comprising 92 modules, on the 4-storey building rooftop. This initiative has not only reduced the electricity bill but also provides a clean and affordable energy source.
In addition to the solar power initiative, the centre has also installed four solar water heating systems on the rooftop, each having a capacity of 1500 litres per day (LPD). These systems provide hot water for the boys and girls hostels and canteen kitchen, reducing consumption of commercial electricity and LPG, and enabling faster food preparation.

Placement Drives

D-Mart, a leading player in the retail marketing sector, well-known for its extensive network of hypermarket chains throughout India, organised an impressive placement drive specifically for PGDM/MBA students in Bhubaneswar on February 21, 2025. The event held at Trident Academy of Technology, Bhubaneswar attracted nearly 120 eager candidates representing eight colleges, all vying for coveted employment opportunities in one of India's most prestigious retail organisations.
After careful consideration, five exceptional students from Bhavan's Centre for Communication & Management (BCCM) were selected for Department Manager positions at D-Mart. These outstanding individuals were offered an attractive annual salary package of Rs. 3.5 lakhs, a testament to their dedication, hard work, and impressive skill sets.
On February 18, 2025, Ceasefire, a renowned Fire Safety and Security Solutions leader, hosted a campus recruitment session at Bhavan's Centre for Communication & Management (BCCM) in Bhubaneswar. During this highly anticipated event, the Company offered seven exceptional students an attractive annual compensation package of Rs. 5.21 lakhs. A total of 112 students from various prestigious management institutes participated in this campus recruitment drive, illustrating the strong interest in career opportunities with Ceasefire. Congratulations to our accomplished students on this remarkable achievement! With the two placement drives during February i.e. Ceasefire & D-Mart, we have placed 63% in the two companies. Four students have got two offers each.

Trip to Vizag

The Bhavan's Centre for Communication and Management (BCCM), one of the leading B-Schools in Bhubaneswar, has collaborated with few national & international institutions for various exchange programmes. Recently, three faculty and forty students participated in a student and faculty exchange programme in partnership with the Indian Institute of Advanced Management (IIAM), Vizag, in Pinnacle 2025, a cultural fest for two days. With participation from more than 54 colleges and over 300 students across the nation, the event was a grand success.
All students actively took part in various competitions and events during the fest, displaying their talents in activities such as B-Quiz, movie quiz, dance, treasure hunt, IPL auction, table tennis, pickleball, 'Show Your Talent', 'Lights, Camera, Reel', etc.
After the event, students had the opportunity to go on a city tour which allowed them to visit some of Vizag's most iconic landmarks and attractions, including Ramakrishna and Rishikonda beaches. Industry visit to Hindustan Shipyard Ltd was a major highlight.

76th Republic Day celebration

India’s 76th Republic Day was celebrated at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bhubaneswar with immense patriotic fervour and pride. The event began with the hoisting of the national flag by Hon’ble Chairman Lt Gen J K Mohanty in the presence of management members, faculty, staff and students, symbolising our unity and heritage.
The theme for this year’s celebration was ‘Swarnim Bharat’, reflecting the vision, mission, and objectives for achieving a golden era for India. This set the tone for the day’s events and the collective aspirations for a prosperous future.
A short but vibrant cultural programme of patriotic songs and dances by the students, representing the future of new India, added a unique charm and excitement to the event.

Deans and Directors’ Round Table

The Eastern Region Round Table of Deans and Directors was conducted by Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management (BCCM), Bhubaneswar, on behalf of AIMS Bhubaneswar Chapter on the topic ‘Accreditation, Quality Assurance and Future of Business Education’ at Mayfair Hotel, Bhubaneswar. The Round Table Conference witnessed discussions and deliberations by eminent academic experts nationwide.
The programme was inaugurated by the Honourable Vice Chairman of Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC), Prof. (Dr) Ashok Kumar Dash as the Chief Guest, Mr Sudhir Sharma, President of AIMS, and Lt Gen JK Mohanty, PVSM, UYSM, SM, VSM (Veteran), Chairman of Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management, as Special Guests. Prof. (Dr) Amiya Kumar Rath, Vice Chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT); Prof. (Dr) B.B. Mishra, Vice Chancellor of Sambalpur University, and Prof. (Dr) P. P. Mathur, Vice Chancellor of Birla Global University, were the Guests of Honour. Prof.(Dr)M.Ramamohan Rao, the Past President of AIMS and Former Director of IIM, Bangalore, was the keynote speaker. Prof. (Dr) Sujata Mangaraj, Past President of AIMS and Sr. Director cum Dean (Academics) of Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management, delivered the welcome address as the Convener of the Round Table.
Focusing on the accreditation standards and evaluation process, the Round Table Conference provided the knowledge to face challenges experienced by the Management Institutions in the Accreditation Processes. More than 200 Deans, Directors and Faculty Members across 50 plus Business Schools of the country participated in the programme.
