Amritsar Kendra

Bhavans SL Public School, Amritsar organised a grand Graduation Ceremony and Prize Distribution Function for the students of the Bal Vatika on March 14, 2026. The event marked an important milestone in the academic journey of the young learners. Through this ceremony, the second batch of students moving from the Pre-Primary Wing to the Primary Wing formally graduated. The excitement and joy of the students were clearly visible as they stepped forward towards a new phase of their academic journey.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Priyanka Sharma, Senior Deputy Mayor, Amritsar.
The programme included a delightful welcome dance by the little performers followed by soulful presentations including the morning prayer “Subah Savere” Geeta Gyan, Ganesh Vandana and thematic performances on Lord Krishna, Veer Hanuman, Diwali and Jungle Theme which captivated the audience. Students also presentedan entertaining humorous Qawwali highlighting various aspects of children, parents and teachers in a light-hearted manner.
Students of Class II appeared on stage wearing graduation gowns and caps symbolising the completion of their Bal Vatika journey and the beginning of a new phase in primary education. On this occasion, meritorious and all-rounder students from Nursery, KG, UKG, Class III along with academic achievers of different grades were honoured with certificates and encouraged to continue striving for excellence. The Chief Guest, Ms. Priyanka Sharma in her speech highly appreciated the efforts of the school and stated that in the holy city of Amritsar, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan functions like a Gurukul, instilling strong values and shaping responsible citizens.
Geetanjali - A Concert by Doctors

Under the direction of Bhavan’s Management Committee, the 117th monthly cultural programme, ‘Geetanjali- A concert by Doctors’ was organised with great enthusiasm on March 22, 2026 at Bhavan’s SL Public School, Amritsar. S. Harminder Singh Jogi (Distt Governor Nominee R.I. Distt 3070) graced the programme as the Guest of Honour.
The programme included flute recitals and various melodious performances. Bhavan’s management Committee honoured the singers for making the evening memorable. S. Harminder Singh Jogi highly appreciated the performance of doctors and thanked the Bhavans management for organising such musical events.
Workshop -Promoting Mental Health and Wellness

A Capacity Building Programme on ‘Promoting Mental Health and Wellness Among Students’ was conducted on March 17, 2026 at Bhavan’s SL Public School under the guidance of the management committee. Teachers from various subjects actively participated in the event.
Ms. Guneet Arora, Vice Principal of Spring Dales School and Ms. Gurpreet Kaur Oberoi, Principal of Amritsar Public School graced the occasion as the keynote speakers and added great value to the programme.
The session began with great enthusiasm and teachers were engaged in creative activities by focusing on life skill development and real life examples. All the teachers actively participated in the workshop through role plays and expression of ideas, gaining meaningful knowledge and insights. It was emphasised that the ups and downs of life teach us how to live and it is through enduring challenges that our true potential is refined. Ultimately, it depends on us how we maintain and nurture our mental health.
Amritsar Kendra

A two-day workshop on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) was successfully organised in the school on March 10-11, 2026 to enhance teachers’ understanding of students’ emotional and social development. The distinguished resource persons, Director Ms. Sudesh Ahlawat and Principal Ms. Manisha Gangwar of Drishti, R.C. Jain Innovative Public School, Ludhiana, were formally welcomed by Bhavan’s Chairman Sh. Avinash Mohindru. During the session,
Ms. Ahlawat highlighted the importance of mastering Social and Emotional Learning in the classroom. She explained the concepts of IQ and EQ through practical and live examples. Various engaging activities were conducted to demonstrate how teachers can effectively connect with students. The workshop emphasised introspection, self-awareness, confidence building and emotional management. The session was highly interactive and goal-oriented, encouraging teachers to adopt strategies that help students develop both academically and emotionally.
Gayatri Havan

Bhavans S L Public School conducted Gayatri Havan on February 10, 2026 to invoke divine blessings for the students appearing in the forthcoming Board Examinations. The auspicious ceremony was attended by Director Dr. Anita Bhalla, Principal Sonia Sehdev along with students and teachers. The students recited the Gayatri Mantra 108 times and the chanting, along with devotional hymns dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, created a spiritually enriching atmosphere. Dr. Anita Bhalla addressed the students, blessed and wished them for the success of their Board Examinations.

The Amritsar Kendra hosted a grand Graduation Ceremony and Prize Distribution for the students of Bal Vatika on February 28, 2026.
The ceremony marked the graduation of the first batch of students from the Pre-Wing to the Primary Wing. Sushree Sumona Mohindru (Vice President and Branch Head HSBC Bank, Amritsar) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme began with a welcome dance by the little children. This was followed by the melodious school prayers, a yoga presentation, and captivating dance performances. The day also acknowledged and appreciated the achievements of Bhavanites (outstanding and all rounder students of Nursery, KG, UKG and Class 3) for their academic success.
Kala Vatika - Art and Craft Exhibition

The Kala Vatika Art and Craft Exhibition was held on February 19, 2026 at Bhavans SL Public School. The exhibition aimed at nurturing creativity and providing a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents. On this occasion, Ms. Priyanka Sharma, Senior Deputy Mayor of Amritsar, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Rotarian Mr. Gurjeet Sekhon attended as the special guest.
As part of the cultural programme, the students performed Ganesh Vandana dance as a mark of respect and welcome. This was followed by performances of a yoga dance and a Punjabi folk dance by the students. Prizes were distributed to students for their achievements.
Amritsar Kendra

Cadet Kavish Razdan, a Grade IX student of Bhavans S.L. Public School, Amritsar, created history by being selected to march in the Prime Minister’s Rally on January 28, 2026 at the Cariappa Parade Ground, New Delhi—an opportunity rarely granted to Junior Officers. This rare honour is reserved for a select group of the finest NCC cadets from across India, and Kavish stood out as the sole representative from the region.
Kavish’s success is the result of his exceptional discipline, perseverance, and commitment to the National Cadet Corps (NCC). His inspiring journey spans eight months, from June 4, 2025 to February 5, 2026, during which he participated in 13 intensive NCC camps. He excelled in Best Cadet competitions, drill training, and cultural events, consistently demonstrating leadership and dedication.
He was adjudged Best Cadet in the Inter-Group Competition (TAP-3) and received a cash award of Rs. 10,000 along with commendation from the Additional Director General of NCC and the Governor of Punjab. Kavish has also been honoured by eminent dignitaries including the Director of Higher Education, Director General of NCC, Chief of Army Staff, Air Chief Marshal, Naval Chief, Vice President of India, and the President of India.
Based on his NCC ‘C’ Certificate, Kavish is eligible for direct entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and has been awarded a scholarship at AFPI, Mohali. For his exemplary service, he has been promoted to the rank of Senior Under Officer (SUO).
The school management and NCC unit played a pivotal role in his success by providing continuous guidance, rigorous training, leadership development, and a strong spirit of patriotism. Their unwavering support enabled Kavish to excel in every sphere.

Under the aegis of Chinmaya Mission Amritsar Centre and Bhavans Management the 282nd Chinmaya Monthly Widow Ration Pension Distribution Programme was organised in the premises of Bhavans SL Public School, Amritsar on January 4, 2026. The event was graced by special guests Engineer T.R. Virdi (HST Enterprises), Shri Himani Arora (Chair, Regional Fashion Tech Tex Forum, PHDCCI Amritsar), Shri Praveen Mahajan, and CA Rajesh Chaddha, and Shri S. N. Joshi, Coordinator of Chinmaya Mission Vanprastha. In his address, Shri Avinash Mohindru (President, Chinmaya Mission Amritsar) highlighted that this noble service has been running continuously for many years under the blessings of God and the Guru, providing a monthly ration of Rs. 1,500 to widows. The guests expressed their gratitude for being part of the programme and assured their support to extend its reach, helping more widows and benefiting society.
The event ended with ration distribution to 250 widows.
Basant Panchami Celebration
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Amritsar, celebrated Basant Panchami with great devotion and enthusiasm by organising a Saraswati Vandana (Bhajan Sandhya) in the school. Teachers and students of the school’s music team presented soulful and melodious bhajans dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, creating a spiritual atmosphere.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, IPS (Retd.), MLA.

Bhavan’s proudly celebrates the remarkable sporting achievements of Rajveer Singh Bhatia, a student of Grade XI, whose excellence in Table Tennis has brought immense honour to the institution. Rajveer showcased exceptional skill and determination by clinching the Under-19 Title at the Punjab State Table Tennis Championship held in Ludhiana, marking a significant milestone in his sporting journey.
Adding to his laurels, Rajveer serves as the Captain of the Punjab Under-19 Table Tennis Team at the National level, reflecting his strong leadership qualities and strategic acumen. He is also a proud member of the Punjab Men’s Team, competing alongside seasoned players and demonstrating maturity beyond his years.
Rajveer’s success is a true reflection of his unwavering dedication, discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship. His achievements inspire fellow students to pursue excellence with passion and commitment.

Under the auspices of Chinmaya Mission Amritsar, the 281st Chinmaya Widow Ration Pension (Monthly) Distribution Programme was organised on December 7, 2025. The programme was graced by the special guests Prof. Dr. Arvind Bhardwaj (NIT Jalandhar), Ms. Reeta Sharma (Past District Chairman, Inner Wheel District 307, Amritsar), and Mr. Varun Nivetia (Proprietor, S.V. Traders—Cashew Dealers, Amritsar), whose presence enhanced the dignity of the event.
In his address, Shri Avinash Mohindru, President of Chinmaya Mission shared that this noble service has been continuing uninterrupted for the last 24 years and that ration worth Rs. 1500 per month is provided to the widow sisters. He added that for the education of their children, Bhavan’s Gyandeep School (free school) and Bhavan’s Gandhi Computer Centre (free computer centre) are always ready to support them. He also urged them to remember God in all circumstances and introduced all the special guests. Bhavan’s teachers, students of Bhavan’s Study Group and staff members participated in the ration distribution.
Wushu Federation Cup—2025

Jasnoor Singh Sandhu and Ekamjeet Singh of Bhavans SL Public School, Amritsar put up a remarkable performance in the 9th Punjab State Wushu Federation Cup—2025, held in Lovely Professional University from 5th to 7th December 2025. By bagging a gold medal Jasnoor Singh Sandhu from Class 11 secured his place for Nationals to be held in Chhattisgarh whereas Ekamjeet Singh from Class 8 bagged a silver medal.
Punjab State Special Olympics

Students of Bhavans Muskaan School (A Special School for ID, CP and AUTISTIC Children) a unit of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan SL Public School, Amritsar, delivered an outstanding performance at the 26th Punjab State Special Olympics. The event was organised by the District Special Olympics Association at Jalandhar, Punjab, from December 12 to 14, 2025.
Four students represented the school with great determination and sportsmanship. Anushka won two gold medals in the 100m Track Race and Mini Javelin, along with a silver in Power Lifting. Eknoor Kaur secured two silver medals in the 25m Track Race and Softball Throw, and a bronze in Bocce. Priya earned a gold in the 25m Track Race, a silver in Softball Throw, and a bronze in Bocce. Hunarpreet Kaur added to the tally with a gold in Shot Put and two silver medals in the 100m Race and Power Lifting.

Bhavan’s Kala Kendra organised 111th Kala Kendra programme i.e. grand Hindi dance, drama and musical presentation based on the life and events of Sufi Saint Bulle Shah on October 4, 2025 on the premises of Bhavan SL Public School. S. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar (IPS Commissioner Police, Amritsar) graced the event as the chief guest and S. Surinder Singh (PCS Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Amritsar) was present as the guest of honour. The play was directed by Guru Rajeshwari Sharma (Kathak dancer) and Shri Ajay Sharma (Theatre performer). In the wonderful presentation, the life philosophy of ‘Bulle Shah’ was depicted. The play also highlighted the importance of detaching oneself from the world and surrendering completely to true love without pretension to attain God.

Under the direction of Bhavan’s Management Committee, the 109th monthly cultural programme, ‘Anmol Yaaden’ was organised with great enthusiasm on August 25, 2025 at Bhavans SL.Public School, Amritsar. In this colourful musical evening, Mr. Prashant Naseri (Play back Singer from Mumbai, A World Record Holder), Ms. Indu Bala (Indian Idol Fame, 2012) mesmerised the audience with their melodious performances. Mr. S Gurpreet Singh Bhullar (IPS Commissioner Police, Amritsar) was present as the Chief Guest and Mr. Narendra Sharma (Senior Town Planner) and Mr. Sodhi graced the programme as special guests.
Sri Guru Nanak Devji Prakash Utsav

Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 556th birth anniversary was celebrated on the premises of Bhavans SL Public School Amritsar with great devotion and enthusiasm.
Sri Jagdish Lakhani (Executive Secretary and Director General Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mumbai) Sh SG Aney (Trustee and member Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mumbai) and Dr. Dinesh K Daftary (Trustee Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mumbai) graced the occasion as chief guests. Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh IPS (Retd.) and Rtn. Dr. PS Grover, Sushree Ruhi Arora (Counsellor), principals from All India Bhavans Schools, the members of Chinmay Mission Amritsar and senior citizens from Bhavans Aashray Amritsar also marked their presence in the event. The occasion began with the pious chanting of Vaahe Guru followed by Shabad Kirtan which created devotional ambience. The event ended with Guru Ka Langar served by students and teachers of the school.
XVI All India Principals Conference

Under the aegis of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Amritsar Kendra, the ‘All India Conference for Principals of Bhavans Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools’ was organised from November 6-9, 2025 at Bhavan S. L. Public School, Amritsar on the theme “Expanding Horizons Without Losing Roots”. The inauguration of the event was conducted via video conference by His Excellency Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Union Territory. In his address, he highlighted the significant role of teachers and appreciated the way Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan continuously promotes Indian culture, traditions, and educational values.
The event was further graced by distinguished guests including Shri Jagdish Lakhani (Executive Secretary & Director General, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai), Shri S. G. Aney (Trustee & Member, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai), Dr. Dinesh K. Daftari (Trustee, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai), Swami Mitrananda (Head, Chinmaya Mission, Chennai), Shri. Madhukar Malhotra (Secretary, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Chandigarh) and Shri. Pauly Menachery (Director, Bhavans Shikshan Bharati, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai), whose esteemed presence added grandeur to the ceremony.
Each day was marked by mesmerising performances by the students and numerous thought-provoking discussions by various experts and dignitaries. Certificates of participation and mementos were presented to all the principals for their meaningful participation in the XVI All India Principal’s Conference in Bhavans. The conference concluded with great success, igniting a renewed spirit of unity, inspiration, and commitment among all Bhavans principals to lead with wisdom and purpose.
