Next Saral Sanskrit Examinations will be held on Saturday-Sunday, 15-16 February, 2025. Those who are interested in appearing for these examinations at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Head Office, Mumbai; may contact and submit their application- forms (with prescribed fees) before 31-01-2025, at the above-mentioned office.

With the object of popularising Sanskrit among the younger generation, the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has been conducting Saral Sanskrit Examinations since 1956, twice a year (in February and September). These examinations are conducted for five graded courses -- Balabodha, Prarambha, Pravesha, Parichaya and Kovida. These examinations are conducted at more than 200 examination centres in India and abroad. So far 22,10,020 students have taken advantage of these examinations (till 2024).

The details of the five Saral Sanskrit Examinations are as under:-

  2. Sanskrit Prarambha One Q. Paper
  3. Sanskrit Pravesha Two Q. Papers
  4. Sanskrit Parichaya Three Q. Papers
  5. Sanskrit Kovida Four Q. Papers

Opening A New Centre

The permission for opening a new centre for conducting Bhavan's Saral Sanskrit Examinations is given to schools, educational institutes, and Sanskrit scholars who have the facility of teaching the courses for these examinations.
