The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's three-month online course (August - October, 2024) (in Hindi medium) on 'Paniniya Shiksha' (Sanskrit work by great grammarian Panini on Linguistics, Phonetics, Phonology etc.), will be commenced from Friday, 2-8-2024.
In this course, the classification of speech sound, origin of speech, 64 letters of the alphabet, five major divisions of Vedic phonology i.e. pitch, duration, place of articulation, effort or mode of articulation, and phonation, as well as good quality of pronunciation, speech production, etc., will be taught with the word-by- word meaning of each of 61 verses of the text.
This course shall be taught ONLINE by Dr. Hitesh Trivedi (on Google Meet).

The Bhavan's Mungalal Goenka Samshodhan Mandir (Mungalal Goenka Research Institute) was established in 1939, for promoting higher studies and research in Indology. Later on, it got recognised by University of Mumbai for post-graduate studies and research in Sanskrit and Indian culture, and was named as Mungalal Goenka Institute of Post-Graduate Studies and Research (also known as Bhavan's P. G. & Research Dept.).
The Institute conducts various short-term courses on Sanskrit and Indian culture, on regular basis.
Topics of some courses conducted at the Institute are as under:-
The staff-members of the Institute had carried out major responsibilities in editing and publication of Bhavan's (1) History and Culture of the Indian People (Vols. I-XI), (2) Upanishadic Project (Five Upanishads), (3) Manusmriti with seven Sanskrit commentaries (Volumes I-VI), and (4) Singhi Jain Series (66 volumes). The Institute also carries out the publication of Bhavan's Research Journal 'Bharatiya Vidya' (in English) since 1939, and Sanskrit Journal 'Samvid' (since 1964). So far, 66 volumes of 'Bharatiya Vidya', and 39 volumes of 'Samvid' have been published, and work of publication of backlog issues of both the journals is under process. 47 Indological works have been published under Bharatiya Vidya Series, and 14 Sanskrit works have been published in Samvid Sanskrit Series. The Institute was intensively involved in the editorial work of the following books published by the Bhavan:-
The Institute also conducts talks, lectures, seminars and other educational functions from time to time. It had also organised exhibitions on 'Indology in Germany' and 'Indology in Russia'. Some of the annual events organised by the Institute are as under :-
The staff-members of the Institute are also associated, in different capacities, with Bhavan's Mumbadevi Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Sanskrit Examinations Department, Jyotisha Bharati, Bhavan's Library and other depts/institutes of the Bhavan. They also regularly participate in the seminars/conferences organised in Mumbai, and other cities.
