Bhavan's Kodunganoor Topped in the Science Project Competition - SPARK - the science behind
The SPARK 2017 - the science behind is an initiative by 'ACE - KALAM FORUM' hosted by ACE College of Engineering, Trivandrum. It aims at bringing the best ideas from the youngsters in the field of Science and Technology.
A science project competition was organised in this regard. 12 schools with more than 40 teams participated. The objective of the event was to provide a platform for the science talents, where they can present their ideas to trigger the future aspirations in science.
The event was held in two phases.The students presented their ideas in the initial session.
8 teams qualified for the second level with the ideas on
1. Stratellite communication - Meera Kesav and Achuth Suresh of Class XII
2. Energy harnessed during rotation of a wheel - Adithya Viswanath and Akshay Sekhar of Class XII
3. Electricity produced from biological means - Aparna, Bhagawath, Renjith and Daniya Rasool of Class XII
4. Hollow flash light - Akhil R and Adarsh Subramoniam of Class XII
5. Liquid nitrogen cooled super conductors
- Gangesh G. S. and Hari Devadarsan of Class XII
6. Conserving energy using total internal reflection - Achuth Sekhar and Gowtham of Class XII
7. Automated street lighting system - Akshay U.S and Vinayak Jayapal of Class XII
8. Air cooling using chemical absorption -Sreehari of Class XII
The final evaluation was held on 26th October 2016.
The event provided a firm platform for the presentation of the scientific ideas of the young scientists at a scholarly level.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary school became the winner of the event the school with the 'Best Scientific Ideas'. The first prize in the project competition was secured by our student, Master Akshay U.S. and Master Vinayak Jaypal for their project 'Automated Street Lighting System'.
The awards were presented to the students at the Valedictory Function by the Minister of Electricity & Devaswam Board - Shri Kadakampalli Surendran, in the presence of MLA Shri. Rajagopal.
