Shri N. Ravi, former Editor and current Director of The Hindu released Bhavan's Journal 59th Annual Number on August 14, 2012 in Chennai.

The 59th Annual Number of Bhavan's Journal was dedicated to octogenarian and nonagenarian living legends.
The issue featured the life and works of eminent personalities like Pandit Ravi Shankar, Dr. A. P. J. Kalam, Lata Mangeshkar, Dr. Balamurali Krishna, Dr. P. K. Warrier, Dr. Lele, Mrinalini Sarabhai, Justice V. R.Krishna Iyer and others.
The issue has also attracted widespread appreciation from our readers and in sections of the mass media.
Dr. A.P.J.Kalam rang up the Editor to convey his congratulations and appreciation of what he called a 'Magnificent issue.' In a write-up on the issue, The Hindu called it 'an amazing line-up of distinguished personalities from all walks of life.'
