The Bhavan's Cultural Festival 2012 was inaugurated on November 21, 2012 at the Kendra premises by Ms. Jennifer A.Mclntyre, Consul General of the United States of America who was the Chief Guest. During the function, the late Shri P.Obul Reddy and Smt P. Gnanambal Memorial Awards ( 1 Lakh each) instituted by Shri P.Vijayakumar Reddy and Dr. Preetha Reddy were presented to Carnatic Vocalist Padmashri Aruna Sairam and Violin Duo Shri Ganesh and Shri Kumaresh. The Kendra also presented its cultural awards on this occasion to four artistes in recognition of their contribution to the carnatic music world. The festival was of 22 days duration with 75 events and concluded on December 12, 2012. Shri L.Sabaretnam, Chairman of the Kendra presided over inaugural function and Shri S. S. Rajsekar, Chairman of Kala Kendra welcomed the gathering. The Guest of Honour Dr. Preetha Reddy, Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals group was felicitated.
