An Abhang based dance performance was given by Smt. Rajeshwari Sainath and troupe on December 13, 2011. On the same day, a DVD containing Bharatnatyam by Rajeshwari Sainath and Odissi by Vaishnavie was released by His Excellency Dr. K. Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu. Shri T. S. Krishnamurthy, Chairman, Chennai Kendra received the first copy and Guru Karaaikudi Mani, Mridangam maestro was the Chief Guest.
The 150th Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated on January 6, 2012. A tribute to Tagore was paid by presenting various dance programmes based on Tagore's poems.
