The Bhavan's author and its Calicut Kendra Committee Member Shri A. K. B Nair has to his credit scores of illustrious books such as his extensive interpretations on Bhagavad Geetha, Vishnushasranama-stotram, and a study on Ramayana of Tunchath Ezhuthachan - all of which were interpreted for the masses to read at ease. He has been conducting various discourses on Hindu legends as panjahams, saptahams, & navahams and so far over 200 such discourses has been completed. An acclaimed orator on spiritual, cultural and social topics he has been enlightening citizens on various topics - mostly spiritual and has addressed 15,000 such meets in cities, small towns and remote locations. He also appears at regular intervals on radio and TV. A radio series titled Vachanamrutham has been one of his noted programmes. He regularly shares his edifying thoughts in leading malayalam dailies such as Mathrubhumi, Manorama and Janmabhumi as well as in periodicals such as Bhavan's Journal, Bakthapriya, Jyothisharatnam and Muhoortham.
On Hindu rituals, festivals and incarnations he has written and published many abridged paperbacks. His language interpretation on Upanishads are yet another popular read in Malayalam.
As devotee of Swami Chinmayananda he commenced his spiritual voyage at an age of 19 in Pune and since then has been amidst masses, interacting with them and giving them solace and solutions for their problems. In this context it is also his 50th year in socio-cultural-spiritual activities. He had also proved his mettle as a theatre personality and also had a brief stint with film industry. Regeneration, renovation and dutiful maintenance of temples are close to his heart. He has been instrumental in rejuvenating many temples in and around Calicut. He continues to be an office bearer as well as an advisor to many temple committees in and around Calicut. He has written three books on Temple culture and the Malayalam version on this topic - Kshetraradhana is a best seller.
He received many accolades for his services such as Bhagavatha Saptaha Ratam, Ramayana Pravachana Vachaspathi, Adyatmika Acharya & Sri Ramadasa Sreshta. Atukal Bhagavati Temple Trust had conferred him with Krishnayana award few years back. Abhayadve Bashasamanwaya Vedi award, Abedhkeerthi honour of Abedananda Asham were also bestowed on him. Sanathana Dharma Parishad, Kashyapa Veda Research Centre and Chennai based Vaishnava Maha Sangham also honoured him.
It is a privilege to honour him on his 70th birthday and on his 50th year of public life. This occasion will be commemorated with a public meeting to pay tributes to him on April 25 and 26 at Town hall Calicut and Zamorin Higher Secondary School, Calicut respectively.
