Artist Camp Held
A 3 day artist camp was held at the Bhavan's Bhubaneswar Kendra during January 18 - 20, 2019 with a view to include sculpture and paintings in the promotion and revival of art forms being undertaken by Bhavan in collaboration with the Infosys Foundation. 20 artistes from Karnataka led by Bhavan's Bengaluru Director Shri H.N. Suresh; Shri P.S.S. Chadaga, Co-ordinator and Dr. P.J. Kamalakshi, Chairman, Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy participated in the camp. Dr. Sitakanta Mahaptra, IAS Retd (former Secretary, Department of Culture) was the chief guest at the inaugural function which was followed by a formal get together organised by Bhubaneswar Kendra Chairman Maj. Gen. B.K. Mahapatra. A large number paintings were displayed at the venue. The participants were benefited by the visits to various cultural centres in Odisha including the Sun Temple, Konark; Lord Jagannath Temple, Puri; Kedar Gauri; Lingaraj Temple area;l Khandagiri, Udayagiri etc. Padmashri Dr. Sudarshan Pattnaik, world renowned sand artists and Chairman of the Odisha Lalit Kala Academy was the chief guest at the valedictory function held on 20th January 2019.
