Participants of the Utsav

On October 6 and 7, 2015, the Hindi department of Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir, Salt Lake, hosted the 'Hindi Rashtra Vasha Utsav', where 11 reputed CBSE board schools of Kolkata participated at the BGKV auditorium. The students enthusiastically took part in recitation competition, antakshari (based on 'Doha') and Just a Minute sessions.
In his inspiring speech, the Director of BGKV, G. V. Subramanian, urged the students to participate in various competitions and accept challenges that life offers every minute. Dr. (Mrs.) Anindita Chatterjee, the Principal of BGKV, said that such co-curricular activities bring out the creativity of the students.The Vice Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Rekha Vaisya, addressed the audience.
Dr. Vimalendu, a senior Hindi (PGT) teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya, was one of the judges. Smt. Bharati Jainani of Hindi daily Prabhat Khabar, was also present at the event.
In the Antakshari competition, BGKV team secured the first position. In the Recitation competition Shreya Giri of BGKV bagged the first prize.
The vote of thanks was proposed by the Director of BGKV.
