Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra has organized a function to release the latest publication of Bhavan 'Rich Tradition Richer Heritage' authored by Shri Surendralal G. Mehtaji, President, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, on 29th February, 2016 at Bhavan's Sardar Patel Sabha Griha, Ernakulam.
Bhavan's founder Kulapati Munshiji contributed a regular fortnightly column under the title Kulapati's Letter in the Bhavan's Journal. He touched on all aspects of life, literature and culture. His successors, as Presidents of
the Bhavan, including Shri Surendralalji Mehta have continued the practice. Selected pieces from his writings have now been brought together in Rich Tradition Richer Heritage. Shri Surendralalji correlates current events to our cultural heritage. As such, the book has a permanent educative value.
Shri E. Ramankutty, Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra welcomed the gathering. In his introductory speech he elaborated the deep association for decades between the Mehtas and Bhavan.
In the prefatory address by Shri Venugopal C. Govind, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, paid tribute to Shri Surendralal G. Mehta. His father Shri Girdharilal Mehta was also a President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, worldwide and the high tradition set up by him is maintained by his son. The articles that Shri Surendralal G. Mehta contributed in each issue of Bhavan's Journal covering all aspects of human activity is something we all looked forward to. The book was released by Shri Venugopal C. Govind who handed over a copy to Dr. R. Sesha Iyer, member, Kendra Committee, BVB and Professor and former Director, S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai.
