Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's V. M. Public School, Vadodara, organised a workshop for students of classes IX to XII in the auditorium on April 27, 2016 in order to foster holistic development of students. Renowned speaker and a staunch follower of the Ramakrishna Mission, Swami Nikhileshwara-nanda was invited to address the students on this occasion. The Principal extended a floral welcome to Swamiji and Ms. Sumana Chattarjee, introduced Swamiji to the audience.
Swamiji began his speech by exalting the principles of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan which was devoted to the idea of 'Value Education' by emphasising not only on career building but also character building of the students. Swamiji further drew the attention of the students towards the definition of success and how one can succeed in life by killing laziness. Highlighting the importance of 'concentration' in order to achieve one's goal, Swamiji quoted interesting anecdotes from the life of Swami Vivekananda about the impact of concentration. He also exhorted the students to develop emotional quotient and spiritual quotient besides intelligence quotient for the holistic development of their personality.
The Head Boy and the Head Girl presented a shawl as a token of gratitude and Mr. Simon George presented a card on behalf of the entire school.
